MU vs Minn GDT

Post by Lightning Rod »

Tonight is our first real test and should give us a better idea about this team. It's early, so a loss wouldn't necessarily indicate we are bad, but it sure would be disappointing. Boateng dressed tonight and that should help, but he may be a bit rusty. Should be interesting. Let's go Tigers!

Even though we are down 5, not a bad start as the defense looks good. Just need to hit the boards harder.

Porter is really not helpful unless he’s making shots.

What game are you watching. Defense has been horrendous. Porter truly is a weak link. Slow feet doesn't move, didnot protect the rim. Does not close out on entry pass and running offense. Get him out. 10 min a game max to rest the starters. Speaking of the wing startersin Boatang and Perce. They are needed now. Otherwise I would put the Freshmen Randall playing the 4

We really don’t guard the 3 point line well at all, but you kind of feel like Minnesota can’t keep this up. We just need to not panic and focus on playing our game. Force turnovers, use our depth, out hustle them. Run the floor. And attack the basket.

We’re out of sorts right now.

Bad shot selection, not getting back on defense.

Offense looks totally undisciplined. One pass across half court and Stone firing contested 3, Barrett going 1 against 4 for air ball in the lane, etc… The team who is better coached is winning so far.

That shouldn't surprise anybody.

It’s critical in Gates’ offense he has 3 point shooters so they can play inside out. It gets bad when we can’t knock down 3’s. Northweather can help with that, a big who can knock down the 3. More I watch him, the more I think he needs significant minutes.

2-3 zone working better. Rebounds killing us. Somebody needs to get hot from 3.

Gonna need a 2nd half surge to pull this one out. Sloppy on O, decent D.

Selfish Basketball. They will lose many games playing this way

We have one of the tallest teams but still can't rebound, as usual.

He's fundamentally sound which is sorely needed on this team.
