OF market good news for Bloom
Insider Moroni late this morning reporting that numerous teams have told him they are seeking at least one everyday outfielder.
This is good news for Bloom who has OF’s he would be willing to move.

Great question!
Scott, maybe? At least defensively.
I still think Church will surprise if given time.
I have pretty much given up on Walker. Tired of Noot. Burleson can stick a little, but not sure he's an OFer.....maybe he's the "occasional" day OFer!!
Re: OF market good news for Bloom
Some teams may be fine with playing Donovan in LF.
He played there previously and gives a very solid bat.
Some may feel Burleson could be an upgrade for their team with strong bat too for corner OF. Average defensively .

If teams are willing to pay for them, sell- but get a return!ramfandan wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 16:11 pmSome teams may be fine with playing Donovan in LF.

Are you doubting that Bloom can consummate a good trade ?

I’m afraid those teams will be in competition with the Cards. Our outfielders have some of the worst offensive numbers of any MLB team. Our surplus is at catcher and infielder. Not outfielder.
Re: OF market good news for Bloom
The Cardinals can’t field a productive OF……but somehow they have extra everyday OFers that other teams covet

No, I have a high degree of confidence in Bloom. There are posters here who think I just want to give away players when I suggest moving them. I am not, and so the comment is for them.ramfandan wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 16:24 pmWhy the ‘… but get a return! ‘Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 16:15 pmIf teams are willing to pay for them, sell- but get a return!ramfandan wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 16:11 pmSome teams may be fine with playing Donovan in LF.

Great to hear ! Appreciate you clarified the reply . I think there are posters on here that due to some of the more recent Mo deals the past couple years are gun shy about trades now . New sheriff in town now as the old sheriff retired . What happened in the past is just that .. the past .Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 16:31 pmNo, I have a high degree of confidence in Bloom. I was thinking the same thing.
Re: OF market good news for Bloom
We don’t have quality OF to trade, we need at least 1 quality OF.
Noot can’t stay healthy.
Walker hasn’t hit.
Burly is probably our best OF but isn’t great defensively.
Scott struggled some with bat.
Donovan is more of a 2B but could play some LF. He’s our best trade chip.

Re: OF market good news for Bloom
Several replies were chuckling that the Cardinals did not have an OF that could fill an OF spot sought by other teams.
It is apparent from some of the comments that they overlooked that several teams would be fine and dandy with Donovan in the outfield
Donovan has previous experience playing there . While not his best defensive position , this isn't taking an infielder with no OF experience and moving him there . Teams have plenty of game video watching Donovan playing the OF spot.
They would not hesitate to play him there. He would hold his own plus give them a very good strong bat in the lineup.
I understand that some on CT don't view Donovan as a corner OF but just because the Cardinals didn't keep him there full time does not mean he couldn't be another teams starting left fielder. Plus the added bonus is that if the team acquring Donovan has infield injury they can always move him into the infield ... more value to a trade .
