Maybe not the right kind of streaking, but thats a 3 game point streak. Have to appreciate the fight tonight. While it wasn't a great hockey game, it was a good one. My only complaint is no response to the 2 goals on 3 shot response by the Flames. For the first 40 the game looked in hand. Binner made some big saves, but so did Wolf. I wasn't a huge fan of us not being offensive in the 3rd, but they did shut down some of the chances that the Flames were having in the 2nd.

Need to get 2 more Ws in the next 3 to make the first 20 not so bad. I don't know if I will buy into the underlying metrics until they bury a couple teams back to back. And that's obviously not what is going on now.

that's for sure. honestly, when you watch games like last night. the team is just automatic on a couple things. I posted in that other thread, that "here comes the comeback" after we were up and about 5 minutes later the 2 goal thing happened. It wasn't because the team was playing bad, in all honesty those 2 goals were crazy. The first one was a great shot and the 2nd one was a deflection bardown. The problem isn't about giving up the goals or not. It's in the pattern that it happens. If we would have scored 1 or 2 in the 3rd, I would have said that was a great growth game. But we decided to play defensive hockey like it was the playoffs, vs the flippin flames. Yes we played a good 3rd, but we didn't play a convincing 3rd. Caveat being there was about a 5 minute span around 13 minutes or so where the team blitzed them and I wish that kept going.

Exactly. A “crawl before you walk” type thing. The team needed a regulation win.

I have no problem with the "crawl before you can walk" sentiment. I just get bummed when there is good ice to be had and they don't take it. I get it, don't take any low percentage plays. But to not take any plays seems so safe its reckless. At that middle of the period moment the Blues looked like they were about to bury the Flames. And in that play they had good defense. I think you are putting unneeded pressure in a different area when you decide to not spring plays the other way in favor of short shifts and defense.

Bummer how that one turned out. But the point streak is alive. Going to have to figure out how to create more shots than that. I didn't get to watch first 2 periods. Were we getting high scoring chances and being too particular?

Only positive I can take is really a negative too, 7 of the last 10 games they got points. Thats 10 of a possible 20. You could be worse than .500 points percentage. No matter which way you shake it. -8 in goal differential in those last 10. They have 1 convincing win, 1 blowout loss, 1 convincing loss, and 7 1 goal games. Good teams find a way to come out ahead in 1 goal games.

But we are streaking again, points in back to back games......
