When the Blues drafted Kyrou 2nd round 2nd pick, I did not realize it until someone mentioned it. Alex Debrincat was drafted 2nd 9th pick so right now looking at each others careers although Alex played more games.

Kyrou to me was the better pick...your all thoughts ??
I would trade JK for AD in a nanosecond.

He has 15 pts in 16 games and is -2. Far better stats than Kyrou.

In his only playoff series, he had 4 assists in 9 games as a 22-year-old.
He finished second on the team in points and was a +4, which led all Blackhawk Fowards.
Kyrou has been in the playoffs four seasons and has always been a minus player.
Kyrou has played in 28 Playoff games and has 2 assists.

One is willing to play Playoff-style hockey, and the other... just doesn't think it is important.

DeBrincat is five inches shorter than Kyrou and 16 pounds lighter.

You don’t talk about buchnevich being a warrior any more.

I don't think I've ever seen somebody blow up DeBrincat with a check - he's built like a fire hydrant.

Kyrou is a decent player who has had a few good seasons putting up points. Not something we've been used to since what...the 90's? Too much is made of him because the fanbase is starved for a star player.

Hey, I can’t beat his drum much these days, but look at the ice time he gets.
Compare that to Kyrou’s

Do you agree with the

about Kyrou, still?

So Buchnevich gets more ice with the best player on the blues and can’t score, can’t block shots, won’t hit …

Great point lol

Compete hard and let your god given ability do the rest. Pretty sure those aren’t unreasonable expectations of any professional athlete.
100% correct, well said. All Kyrou has to do is pressure on the forecheck and in the D zone using his talents, no one is asking him to be Cal Clutterbuck. Kyrou has been effective at turning over pucks in the past not sure whats up with him. But look, Kyrou was a 2nd round pick who can score 30+ goals i think we may or the Blue may be making a bit too much out of him.
The issue is how the team is designed. Kyrou probably excels on a good team as a 3rd line supplemental piece, maybe 2nd line. For the Blues, he is asked to be a driver. His coming out year was when the Blues were still good and threatening Stanley Cup teams. In that season he wasn't the main focus at all. Guys like ROR/Thomas/Tarasenko/Saad/Schenn/Buchy all had the other teams focus. barbashev and kyrou got to clean up that year.

Kyrou was then given an extension that signaled that the team is going to be built around how you play. Kyrou probably is worth the 8m. But the team has been built on the premise that he is going to drive offense. When guys like Suter can do outpace you, that's a problem. If Kyrou was at 15 points in 17 games it would be a different story. That's what he normally brings. But he is currently on a 42.5 point pace.

ALL THAT BEING SAID, Thomas/Buchy/Kyrou/Hollywood all have another gear to offer the team. If that happens, maybe a win streak happens. For today, I'll be happy with the point streak we are on.

Do you think that Kryou would rather be on a playoff-bound now? For sure, yes. Kyrou would be estatic to go to good team. Who wouldn't? Most players have loyalty to their fan base and team. Kyrou may have had that at one time, but I'm sure that he feels like the team and fans have not been loyal to him first.

while I agree their play has been lackluster, last night should have been a 2 point night for both Thomas and Buchy. Both failed to capitalize on really good setups. Thomas could do the same thing he did 100 times with buchys pass in that 4 on 4 and he would make it 98 out of 100 times. double doink knob off the bar is next to impossible to pull off.
