Kyrou hurt?
13 mins … less than Sunny
Re: Kyrou hurt?
Monty addressed this in his presser, went to 3 lines at end of 2nd. Looking at the box score Dvorsky, Kyrou, and Bjugstad sat.
Re: Kyrou hurt?
Kyrou plays in bad team playing the worst team in the NHL and gets 13 minutes.

It truly is. Black eye really for the team. Send him home and trade him for whatever. He really has no trade value at this point. Must be pretty bad situation between player and coach.

Re: Kyrou hurt?
My guess is that Kyrou wants to be traded. The job expectations are too big here.
Re: Kyrou hurt?
He wouldn't play for three straight coaches - Berube, Bannister, and now Montgomery. It's not on Kyrou? Give us a break, Theo!
Re: Kyrou hurt?
Hired by the same gm.
What craziness to think someone with Army's ego would hire someone to play a style Army doesn't know.
It's not a coach, it's a gm.
It's more then embarrassing. It's at a lose to the team and for the organization.
This management will take a guy with a skill, put him with grinders then get mad because their skilled guy inst that good battling along the board's.
Zone time, board battles, hits.
Don't lead to wins, like goals do.
Most every goal is scored on the fly/to the net. Not from a guy in front, not from a board battle win, not from a big hit But from a guy who takes the puck straight to the net.
We've beat down skilled players since Army has got here. And there's always a Army guy jealous enough in the locker room to help out. Cheddar is the rat.

The Army ax grinding aside, there is a point here. Don’t get mad at a fish cause he can’t climb a tree.Cahokanut wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 08:02 am

Compete hard and let your god given ability do the rest. Pretty sure those aren’t unreasonable expectations of any professional athlete.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 06:17 am My guess is that Kyrou wants to be traded. The job expectations are too big here.

Re: Kyrou hurt?
This is a true statement and also a false premise. You utilize peoples strengths, but also recognize their weaknesses and try to push those in the right direction. Kyrou while being a good goal scorer, emphasis on good, he's not a 50 goals guy. Has also been the worst offensive forward at one point in his career. You can't have 1 and ignore the other. Monty has coached guys like Pasta and they were (upset) when he got let go. Monty while saying he is a "defensive coach" is 100 percent an offensive style coach. He designs the defense to be a breakout defense to try and put the other team on the backfoot as much as possible.netboy65 wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 09:43 amThe Army ax grinding aside, there is a point here. Kyrou while a different player in terms of the talent the Blues have, has a major downside that accompanies his game. Last 2 years he looked to be trending, but this year its clearly went backwards.

Re: Kyrou hurt?
I want all your opinions as I saw this in another hockey forum in Canada.
When the Blues drafted Kyrou 2nd round 2nd pick, I did not realize it until someone mentioned it. Alex Debrincat was drafted 2nd 9th pick so right now looking at each others careers although Alex played more games.
Kyrou to me was the better pick...your all thoughts ??

Re: Kyrou hurt?
100% correct, well said. All Kyrou has to do is pressure on the forecheck and in the D zone using his talents, no one is asking him to be Cal Clutterbuck. Kyrou has been effective at turning over pucks in the past not sure whats up with him. But look, Kyrou was a 2nd round pick who can score 30+ goals i think we may or the Blue may be making a bit too much out of him.TruBlueFan_1970 wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 09:52 amCompete hard and let your god given ability do the rest. Re: Kyrou hurt?
They're pretty comparable players. Both have a ton of skill but have a tendency to leave you wanting more. I might lean DeBrincat because I think he's more willing to shoot first.ManitobaBlues wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 10:26 am I want all your opinions as I saw this in another hockey forum in Canada.
