My only thoughts would be BD, SG and maybe AB for a big haul.

That haul would be a lot. 5 players minimum in return, with two mlb ready AAA players

I can see Bloom making a number of deals that brings a better balanced roster. The Cardinals have a number of left handed hitting OFers. I could see one or more dealt for a right handed OFers of equal value. So, not necessarily for pitching or prospects.

So I am using the MLB media , specifically MLB Network , to label the deal 'blockbuster' .
For example , if Brendan Donovan would be traded by Bloom does the fact an All Star player of 2025 ,earn the 'blockbuster' designation.
A trade of Nolan Arenado , though high name recognition, would not alone be a 'blockbuster' most would agree.
If Sonny Gray was packaged with other Cardinal major league roster players , might that earn 'blockbuster' ?

I am thinking Bloom will make some deal MLB Network 'insiders' ( Heyman, Morosi, Olney ,Nightengale etc . ) designate as a blockbuster. What about you ?
Donovan was an all-star because every team gets one. Arenado bats 6 on a horrible team. Gray is a #3 on a descent team. A blockbuster trade would be something that makes the Cards relevant again. It would take all three of those guys and isn’t going to happen.

So, the return on their medium trade chips will bring about a couple of C level prospects or possibly a single B level prospect in return.

Translated: The Cards will field a AA, AAA and AAAA roster of basically minor league talent this season. They will sprinkle in just enough mediocre veteran starting pitchers to cover the never ending innings that the rookies can't cover because they don't have stamina to do so at this point in their young careers.

70 wins? 75 wins?
This is what has me pessimistic about the rest of this decade. Which of our top 10 prospects came from the return on prior veteran trades? I don’t think any of them. Those trades are just long shots.

All our chips are on JJW, Doyle, RaRod becoming homegrown stars and I’m not sure it’s going to be nearly enough. Just look at Baltimore.

Your first paragraph does you a disservice. If it’s blockbuster, it’s big to every one regardless of their feelings toward a deal. Blockbuster stands for special events. No big deal to another, doesn’t fit the blockbuster narrative. I’m thinking blockbuster and big- like trading Winn or Walker.
