"Do more with less" may not be a stated motto of the Brewers, but it certainly is something that they practice as an organization. The way they cobble together their MLB roster with a smaller payroll than most teams and cobble together enough runs to win more regular season games than any other team is admirable and worth copying. I'm sure Bloom is looking at the Brewers' methods.

Yes, I know there are still a couple on here. Either family members or on team payroll. Just kidding. Probably just good fans who remember the winning years.BrockFloodMaris wrote: ↑11 Nov 2025 22:25 pmYes, a few. There will always be a few blind boot lickers. I'm not a fan of Oli's, but are you two saying that the Brewers and Cardinals are equally talented teams, less the managers?

Re: Pat Murphy named NL Manager of the Year again
Nope. I am saying that Johnny Mo couldn’t carry Matt Arnold’s briefcase to the GM meetings. Mo’s ability to construct an MLB roster with a low to midrange payroll is wildly overshadowed by Arnold’s. Murphy’s ability to extract the most from that roster is well documented. There’s no telling what Oli could do with the Brewers. My guess is third place and not the best record in MLB.RamFan08NY wrote: ↑11 Nov 2025 23:07 pmBrockFloodMaris wrote: ↑11 Nov 2025 22:25 pmYes, a few. There will always be a few blind boot lickers. Sorry , I cannot remember the other vote totals listed for 4, 5, & 6th place but Craig Counsel did get 4th place . (the top 3 are listed as finalists and get the national pub.)
As for Oli, think he received 141 fewer votes than Murphy ! Is that a nice way of putting zero ?

lol hey but oli worked hard to earn zero votes. But the players like him that’s apparently all you need to be qualified or manage and keep your job in St. Louisramfandan wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 10:56 amSorry , I cannot remember the other vote totals listed for 4, 5, & 6th place but Craig Counsel did get 4th place . The Cardinals need to build a similar model with the added benefit of a $200 million payroll. With Bloom's emphasis on player development hopefully they'll do that.
