Dude he’s gone. You don’t have to mention him anymore
He may be gone but the mess he made will linger for a long time.

Torres isn't a catcher....he once caught games in the Minors...but that was many moons ago.

he last caught games in 2021...20 games. That was the first time since 2018.

He's not a Catcher...even back then, the Giants and Brewers didn't like his Catching Prowess

He played about the same innings at 1B 5 or 6 years ago...but he's clearly not a 1B....too (bleep) short.

Flexible regarding Crooks and Pages being traded. Whomever gets the greater return. Trade Pozo if value in return. If not, he's good insurance at Memphis.

I'm going with the 2 catchers who have been in games the Cardinals actually win.

One LHB needs to go to make room for Wetherholt! I'm assuming Gorman is gone... it could be Burleson or Donovan or Nootbar
I'm assuming Walker is sent to AAA. This team needs a RH outfield bat but he has not been that guy. I'm giving Fermin a try!

117 starts against RHP (always has Burleson, Wetherholt, Donovan, Nootbar, Scott)
C Pages 63, Herrera 54
1B Contreras 90, Burleson 27
2B Wetherholt 90, Donovan 27
SS Winn 90, Wetherholt 27
3B Arenado 72, Donovan 45
RF Nootbar 81, Church 36
CF Scott 117
LF Donovan 45, Nootbar 36, Torres 27, Herrera 9
DH Burleson 90, Herrera 27

45 starts against LHP (always has Contreras, Herrera, Winn, Arenado, Fermin)
C Pages 45
1B Contreras 45
2B Wetherholt 18, Saggese 27
SS Winn 45
3B Arenado 45
RF Nootbar 18, Fermin 27
CF Scott 18, Church 27
LF Fermin 18, Donovan 18, Saggese 9
DH Herrera 45

Total Starts for the season
135 Winn, Contreras, Herrera, Donovan, Nootbar, Scott, Wetherholt
117 Burleson, Arenado
108 Pages
63 Church
45 Fermin
36 Saggese
27 Torres

He needs to pick up a glove and learn 3B or a corner OF position. No matter how he feels about catching, he is not going to be a better defensive catcher than Bernal. He hits too well to be a catcher. Not only do you want his bat in the lineup everyday, you don't want the wearing down that takes place with catching. He is too athletic to waste at 1B. 3B. LF. RF. Good for the Cardinals. Good for Rodriguez' longevity and career.
Rainel is roughly 5’8. He’s got a good bat though. Bernal really faded at Springfield this year and is around 6’0, 250 lbs so I’m not sure about him. He is elite defensively but so is Crooks. I really like the future of the position with those 3.

If Herrera plays some catcher due to getting his arm fixed, he may be a one year stop gap there.

I couldn’t care less about Pages or Pozo. They aren’t a part of the present or the future imo.
