Before knocking Drink
How many head coaches survive having a downer in the SEC after losing your top two QBs and star kicker to injury for an extended period of time? By the way, I hope something was learned from the Horn and Craig injuries.

Re: Before knocking Drink
Every other SEC coach has a veteran top rated back up kicker. Except Drink.
Pribula and Horn have never proven themselves to be that great anyway. Drink can't recruit or develop QB's.

Cook developed nicely under Drinkwitz.Konstantinov wrote: ↑11 Nov 2025 17:42 pm Every other SEC coach has a veteran top rated back up kicker. Except Drink.

Cook was much worse his senior year than his junior year.

Re: Before knocking Drink
It’s fair to criticize Drink and in particular how the offense has been coached. But firing is a little crazy. That would set us back years unless we got lucky with the next hire.
Better to put a little faith in Drink that he’ll do what’s necessary in the off season and get it figured out. And hope our key skill players come back. The potential of the offense next year could be incredible.

Re: Before knocking Drink
Cook was a gamer and did a great job for Mizzou. His stats were lower his senior year, but we stopped throwing the long ball totally. Sure Cook overthrew too many of them, but Moore put the offense in “short game mode” and that hurt Cook. No deep balls to Johnson and Burden and instead we doubled down on bubble screens. I would take Cook in a heartbeat with a good OC.
On Drink, nobody wants him fired, but many want him to humble up and fire Moore for a true big time OC. I would love for him to take a shot at Tom Herman who is a true offensive guru and open up the wallet. He is also a recruiting stud in Texas. Hurry and get him while he is repolishing his star.

Just curious but who is “he” in the note above? Cook or Moore.TheMajicMan wrote: ↑11 Nov 2025 20:51 pmrezero wrote: ↑11 Nov 2025 19:17 pmCook was a gamer and did a great job for Mizzou. This is an excellent post. Great observation about Cook’s years. And I really like the Herman idea.rezero wrote: ↑11 Nov 2025 19:17 pmCook was a gamer and did a great job for Mizzou. Re: Before knocking Drink
Who here thinks if Drink got fired he'd be hired by a lateral or down grade team?

Re: Before knocking Drink
Much worse? More exaggeration for effect.
Cook had 25% less passing yards but had far fewer attempts. He had less interceptions as a senior (2-6)
All his "yards per" were down less than 10%, while his passing rating was down about 12%.
And he played a lot while being hurt and sometimes when injured.
Re: Before knocking Drink
we'd be 6-3 no matter who was QB

And Woofy is using Drink as the butt of his joke.
He is seizing on an opportunity to attack the coach now, before things settle down and it's too late.
Re: Before knocking Drink
No. As I’ve said, I like Drink. Do I need to wash his feet for you to be satisfied? Can i say he has room for improvement without you getting all worked up? Can I say I’d prefer that he doesn’t go a 7th straight season without beating a sec team that finished above .500 in the league? I assume I cannot say that. Rather, I indeed need to worship him, pray to him, and ask for forgiveness. Then, Of course, I’ll need to spread the word and ultimately become a martyr for Drink in order for you not to get your panties in a bunch.winonsports wrote: ↑13 Nov 2025 11:00 amAnd Woofy is using Drink as the butt of his joke.
