Chicago has NHL ready defenseman and a stack of picks they can utilize to make this happen - you have to go for it early because high end free agent talent is hard to acquire.

You call Kempe "nothing".Bacchk29 wrote: ↑09 Nov 2025 20:41 pmGlad you’re not the GM. Maybe you’re gonna go out and score goals when you give Kyrou away for nothing.Mr.Snuggleupagus wrote: ↑09 Nov 2025 17:35 pmI wouldn't care about an extension. If Kempe doesn't sign, shop in free agency.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑09 Nov 2025 15:27 pm If he were to be traded the likely one is to LA for Kempe but only if we get a window to negotiate first.
Just unloading that Kryou contract is good enough.

You want more than a Mitchkov, Kempe or Tkachuk?ScalesofJustice wrote: ↑09 Nov 2025 23:24 pm If the Blues move on from Kyrou they better get much more than what most posters are asking for.
What else would them teams need to add?

A GM that trades a major asset for a guy that’s not signed long term won’t be employed very long.Mr.Snuggleupagus wrote: ↑10 Nov 2025 18:35 pmYou call Kempe "nothing".Bacchk29 wrote: ↑09 Nov 2025 20:41 pmGlad you’re not the GM. Re: Matvei Michkov for Jordan Kyrou
Trading for and then signing Kempe to a long term deal would be a huge mistake.
He'll be 30 before the puck drops on his new 7 or 8 year deal. Recipe for disaster.
Kempe doesn't fit our age group just like I warned nearly 3 years ago about Buch.
Let another team pay for his degradation.

If Steen can't talk Kempe into resigning; you look at Schmaltz, Tuch, etc. (all better all-around players than Kyrou).netboy65 wrote: ↑11 Nov 2025 01:55 amA GM that trades a major asset for a guy that’s not signed long term won’t be employed very long.Mr.Snuggleupagus wrote: ↑10 Nov 2025 18:35 pmYou call Kempe "nothing".Bacchk29 wrote: ↑09 Nov 2025 20:41 pmGlad you’re not the GM. No they’re not. You only accept elite talent back for Kyrou, not mid level guysMr.Snuggleupagus wrote: ↑11 Nov 2025 19:10 pmIf Steen can't talk Kempe into resigning; you look at Schmaltz, Tuch, etc. The Blues would have a much better chance of winning with any of those 3 players than Kyrou.netboy65 wrote: ↑11 Nov 2025 19:15 pmNo they’re not.
