Chicago has NHL ready defenseman and a stack of picks they can utilize to make this happen - you have to go for it early because high end free agent talent is hard to acquire.

I wouldn't care about an extension. If Kempe doesn't sign, shop in free agency.

Just unloading that Kryou contract is good enough.
Glad you’re not the GM. Maybe you’re gonna go out and score goals when you give Kyrou away for nothing.
You call Kempe "nothing". ::crazya:: Cuckoo-Cuckoo ::crazya::

You wouldn't swap Kyrou for Mitchkov?

You want more than a Mitchkov, Kempe or Tkachuk?

What else would them teams need to add?

A GM that trades a major asset for a guy that’s not signed long term won’t be employed very long.
Go study how sports trades work.

Trading for and then signing Kempe to a long term deal would be a huge mistake.
He'll be 30 before the puck drops on his new 7 or 8 year deal. Recipe for disaster.
Kempe doesn't fit our age group just like I warned nearly 3 years ago about Buch.
Let another team pay for his degradation.

If Steen can't talk Kempe into resigning; you look at Schmaltz, Tuch, etc. (all better all-around players than Kyrou).

Go study how addition by subtraction works.

No they’re not. You only accept elite talent back for Kyrou, not mid level guys

The Blues would have a much better chance of winning with any of those 3 players than Kyrou.

Sorry that fact hurts you bubb.
