Mailloux to Springfield
Skinner recalled.
Great move to get him some much needed ice time. You’ve got your homework, Kid…now let’s see whatcha got!

Member when Monty said once Mailloux got back into the lineup, he wouldn’t be coming out for a long time?
This is the right move don’t get me wrong, but this team has been an absolute clown show this season

If not for Army still hanging around. It would be the last we see of LMLuvthaBlues wrote: ↑09 Nov 2025 08:02 am Skinner recalled.

Good. If he isn’t playing a majority of games, he needs to be playing lots of minutes in AHL

Not just going down and playing. Actual coaching/instruction needs to happen.
This kid is completely lost.

Re: Mailloux to Springfield
I agree of course but something tells me LM is lost more within himself than with instruction. I know the two should be nearly synonymous but he has exceeded himself in ahl then has not made that transition to nhl like so many players do.John Cocktoastin wrote: ↑09 Nov 2025 08:18 am Not just going down and playing. I'm guessing he's over thinking, over concerned/worried and under in confidence right now. It's a head problem.
Re: Mailloux to Springfield
He's going to be 23 towards the end of this season, the "figure it out" window really isn't that far away. Just a ridiculous trade by the organization.
Re: Mailloux to Springfield
And any way you shake it, Army was on record right after the trade confidently proclaiming him NHL ready.
Even if he works out, their words and actions show they grossly misjudged where he’s at.

Re: Mailloux to Springfield
Everyone said the same thing relax the Blues don't have the defense depth to carry LM. If they and a Suter the situation could be different for Logan. He's 22 let him go get coached up some more. Bolduc doesn't move the needle for STL esp if Neighbours is healthy Bolduc would have been in Monty's doghouse by now

That’s just not true.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑09 Nov 2025 09:15 amEveryone said the same thing
And the team is in last place and with a horrendous offensive production. You’re saying a guy pacing for 20+ goals wouldn’t move the needle? At what point will you not “relax” Harry? This is a disaster from almost every aspect

Re: Mailloux to Springfield
Probably said that to save face at the time of the trade but Mailloux was an AHL all star so that likely at least allowed him to say it.

Re: Mailloux to Springfield
He absolutely vouched for the NHL readiness. He really needed to be done two years ago but they let him manage his own firing and he botched that too

Re: Mailloux to Springfield
Are you celebrating that interview? It’s beat writer on radio outside of his market trying his best to sell the local fans on a players value….and he’s said more or less four things:
1. Mailloux has a lot of raw skill - might be true; haven’t seen anything positive yet.
2. Mailloux is ready now to play in the NHL - this is obviously incorrect (it’s also counter to his point that when given the chance in Montreal he wasn’t getting it and was sent back down)
3. Mailloux has very poor hockey IQ - well this is certainly alarming and quite possibly the one attribute that separates first round picks that succeed and those that bomb out.
4. Mailloux wasn’t progressing or taking advantage of his opportunity in Montreal. To the point they went out and acquired guys like Noah Dobson that made him expendable.
Now find the beat writers thoughts on the trade to his in market audience and you want have to read between the lines.
Re: Mailloux to Springfield
Agree with Harry. Snuggerud essentially replaced Bolduc in the top nine; what's more, I doubt Dvorsky gets a call up if Bolduc is still here.MiamiLaw wrote: ↑09 Nov 2025 09:17 amThat’s just not true.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑09 Nov 2025 09:15 amEveryone said the same thing

Absence of Bolduc is not with the Blues are 5-8-3.
The trade was made for a few years down the road — if it works out.
