Mizzou Place Kickers
With all the truly excellent high school soccer talent in this state, doesn’t it seem unfathomable that the Tigers kicking game is so putrid ? It just seems preposterous that there isn’t an obvious fix to such an important part of the game doesn’t it ?

Craig is a very good place kicker but he was lost for the season in the first game.
Teams seldom lose their kicker but when they do they seldom have another nearly as good.

My point in starting this thread was that irrespective of Craig being hurt, there are plenty of soccer players in the STL area alone that could walk on and kick well. They oughta even get at least a one year scholarship if necessary. It’s just dumb to have such an obvious weakness at such an important position that should be relatively easy to fix.

How many D1 schools have kickers who played soccer in high school and not football?bgwinn01 wrote: ↑08 Nov 2025 23:14 pm My point in starting this thread was that irrespective of Craig being hurt, there are plenty of soccer players in the STL area alone that could walk on and kick well. Re: Mizzou Place Kickers
It was just a tough break losing your kicker on the opening kickoff of the year. How many times has that actually happened. Also losing your backup quarterback after he comes in and runs one play.
The opening game against an inferior team. This just doesn’t happen but look how it affected the whole year. Seemed kind incidental at the time but who knows where this team would be if we had Horn to fall back on and if we had our regular kicker all year.

Who is going to want to spend all the time and energy into playing football, just to be a backup kicker? Precisely guys who aren’t any good at kicking.

No doubt Mizzou was the first. Another classic to put in the annuals of only Missouri.Whatashame wrote: ↑09 Nov 2025 02:12 am It was just a tough break losing your kicker on the opening kickoff of the year.
