Kerbs is fine…. It’s Vitale and his ADD that screws up that booth. JK wouldn’t help solve that problem.

I like Kerbs, but not so much this year! He is so easily distracted and Vitale gets him on tangents. The reason I said I miss JK, is that he was professional enough to call the play by play and not go off on everything but the game. JK had Rivs and Panger many times would get the motor mouth from time to time, but JK would always reel it back on the game.

Joey is great to listen to on talk radio. He’s full of personality and life and interesting …which is good EXCEPT when you’re actually watching a game and trying to follow the play itself from player to player. On Radio, you just keep the conversation flowing to fill in airtime because you can’t have silence on the radio. Starting this simulcast nonsense is what has caused people to not like Kerber or Vitalie . It’s a shame because they both come with a lot of knowledge, but there was not a place to call for kissing talk when the Kracken was buzzing around our net. I think that was a second period if I remember right

These are all just growing pains. The other alternative is they bring in a couple of out of towners who have no connection to the team or the city. Remember how bad Bernie used to be? These guys will get better just like he did. It just takes time and experience.

Interesting perspective, high stick. When this chain was announced away from using Dan Kelly, I said I don’t mind Joey and Kerbs on the radio when I listen to them, but the problem will have is when either of them takeoff and they use some DEI hires to sub for either of those two.
That will be the worst version of out of towners who sound indifferent and with voices some of us will hate to hear on a broadcast

Just wondering how many years does it take for a play by play guy to be able to tell you what's happening on the ice, where the puck is and who is in possession of it?

That should happen game one.

I don't have any idea what you guys are listening too or what you're listening for who thinks Kerber is any good.

Kerbes isn't good but I don't think he's bad. Vitale is just inexperienced at this level. Those are big shoes to fill left by Panger and JK. Other teams local guys suck too we were just spoiled with JK and Panger.
I agree about the assist. It deserves a mention. I'd also like more than one replay on a goal or penalty but those guys don't decide that sort of stuff.

It's really off-putting and we should have much better than this. Dumb.
I wasn’t a fan when I heard about the change, but I also said I would try to pass judgement until I heard their broadcast.

So far I am not a fan, though it’s hard to tell how much of that is the actual broadcast style verse frustration with the underachieving of the team.

It’s bad when my 16 year-old turns to me and asks “ what are they talking about?”

I will say though I will now think of Kerber every time I drive through Enfield, CT after his comment about Dvorsky during the Kraken game. It sent me searching out how he ever heard of it (much like Brad Thompson slam against Bridgeport, CT).

When this many people are dissatisfied, apathetic, annoyed, and frustrated with the broadcast team…it’s a legitimately serious issue that’ll hurt their ratings, if it hasn’t already. I dont see an ounce of dogpiling, just dogshhiiit callin the games. I refuse to listen anymore. I wanted to punch someone everytime they’d talk about unfunny krap instead of tellin me who has the gd puck.

I don't get the impression these two care if they are liked.

No doubt these two have read every post in every thread about themselves and are just trolling the fans by not trying to correct.

I remember JK was saying "and" with every description. After posted here, he stopped.

These two are like [fork] you's

I was a fan of Kerber calling out the legal tampering that Seattle was allowed to pull on the Blues in the expansion draft. Shows he’s a true fan of the team as well.

I imagine we are more critical than most casual fans watching games so maybe most people are okay with it. If not somebody from the team should be noting the disapproval. No choice for many of us and maybe they know that and so they don't care. You guys watching streams can elect to choose the other feed.

Many of these local sports announcers think fans are fascinated by their lifestyle away from the job- which I am not. An occasional reference is fine but they go into a level of detail that is creepy.
