Blues defense

Post by stanw »

Why is Jordan Eberle behind 2 Blues defenseman blocking the goalie to get the tying goal ??
Why did the Blues not touch the puck at all during overtime ??
Why can we not score an empty net goal ?? last minute of game and once again no puck control -- just like all last year.

We were spoiled for a long time with Petro, Jaybo, Parayko, Gunnarsson. Parayko is still a nice player but the personnel around him isn’t up to par. Petro alone would calm so many of these horrible pinned in situations with a cool, collected clear. Will never forgive Armstrong for fumbling that bag.

Eberle was behind Parayko at the end of regulation, and in OT it was Parayko taking himself out of position on the goal.

At the end of regulation the Blues players had been on the ice for an extended time. Even after the TO they seemed to lack some quickness and aggressiveness.

Schenn plays pretty smart with the puck in OT but without the puck he's far from an ideal open ice checker and skater.

Pietrangelo is ancient history. This Blues team, these players, can play better than this, should play better than this. They need four goals tonight, at home, against the Kraken. They never got the fourth goal. It's NOT too much to expect.

It’s not just about tonight. Should they play better? Could they? Sure. They’ve played better for short stretches with this core but the core is deeply unimpressive. Where are your standout players on this squad? Especially on D? They’re just not there. I get that people have expectations but look at this roster and compare it to the rest of the league. Who really stands out? And not just in a superstar way. Even our role players are painfully bland and limited. It’s a personnel issue.

It’s painfully obvious but yes if it needs to be stated plainly, I’m saying they suck.

These are the bad times man. The teams we used to mock have talent and coaching. Watch a sharks, ducks or hawks game.

Much more entertaining

I’ve been waiting for the Ducks to break out for two years. They’re my go to right now. Giving Vegas all they can handle tonight.

News flash….Petro never cleared th front of the crease…EVER.
That doesn’t mean he wasn’t effective though by any means.
And one other thing….why be mad at Army….Petro chose to leave. He had plenty of time and an offer to stay….he chose not to.

I dunno, while it’s pretty safe there, Id reckon to say it’s even more safer to be next to Kyrou or Buch.. or Thomas for that matter.
