Do you honestly believe that?jcgmoi wrote: ↑08 Nov 2025 08:12 amIf Pujols was paying a junkie to abuse himself in return for money to buy more drugs, that's bad. I don't know if that's true but I can't dismiss it out of hand.
Here's The Athletic article cited in VEB: https://archive.ph/8cbZ6#selection-303.0-303.226
Sure, a bunch of jocks are paying some guy to do dumb stuff like they were on Jackass. But inferring anything beyond that is ridiculous.

I often wonder if articles online were written by AI, I wonder if this one was written by a 6th grader.

"Do dares(?)...and give him money to buy drugs?"Kris Constanti testified that Pujols was paying Kay to do dares such as getting hit by a 90-mph fastball and give him money to buy drugs, and he had video proof of the future Hall of Famer taking part in this situation. Sam Blum of The Athletic even said that Pujols “egged him on.”

Have you forgotten what I wrote? "If Pujols was paying a junkie to abuse himself in return for money to buy more drugs, that's bad. I see an 'if' and an 'I don't know' that you must have missed.
I also mentioned sworn testimony and video showing Kay "taking a 90-mile-per-hour fastball to the knee, as superstar Albert Pujols egged him on", one of various “horseplay” dares in exchange for money, according to testimony.
On the other side you have the fact that Pujols is a HoFer who won championships in StL. It's the Aunt Flossie defense: that nice boy would never do anything like that.
I'm not smearing Pujols. I'm not giving him an automatic pass either.

That has the dumbest take I’ve ever read. Some
Friends do things like that with each other and offer money as incentive and even putting that aside there’s zero evidence he knew he was addicted to drugs he most likely never did just a dumb dumb take

Re: Albert Pujols Squeaky Clean Image Just Took a Hit??
An unbiased and agenda free perspective.
1. A person has testified under oath that Eric Kay was known throughout the Angels clubhouse as a drug addict.
2. Pujols and others reportedly intentionally paid this known drug addict to engage in high-risk activities for money.
3. It is claimed there is video evidence to support that.
4. That does not incriminate Pujols or anyone else.
5. It could, however, be grounds for a civil suit on Kay's part, seeking compensation from Pujols, other team members, and the team itself by alleging (and proving) they knowingly took reckless advantage and caused damage.
Should that rightfully happen?
No.
But an attorney could very well attempt to make such a case.

Paid him to get hit by a fastball "to buy drugs". That is a big leap. Paid him to get hit - not illegal. Where is the evidence Pujols knew the guy was on drugs?

Exactly. That sentence "give him money to buy drugs" is crazy. I thought that vivaelbirdos was better than that. Ridiculous.

If the player in question was a Chicago Cub….would some be so quick to dismiss it as a phony hit piece?jcgmoi wrote: ↑08 Nov 2025 09:54 amHave you forgotten what I wrote?
