Blues Trade/Move Prediction
I predict these 3 characteristics of the move:
1. A veteran that has a good chance to improve the winning % to at least 50%.
2. Immediate veteran upgrade to replace what Army's homegrown talent (Kyrou) failed at.
3. Kyrou leaves, but the makeup of the deal is such that it will be impossible to determine the exact return for Kyrou. Army does not want the STL fans to see that Kyrou was worth only peanuts in a trade.
4. Our chances of TOP5 pick evaporate. We will be picking around #15 again--which is what got us in this horrible roster mess to begin with, but it's how Blues management rolls.
5. Current year W/L looks much more positive.
6. Future looks as shaky as it does now

Re: Blues Trade/Move Prediction
Sadly my crystal ball has been broken all of my life but I would be hopeful for a return that couldn’t be evaluated immediately because that usually means we are getting prospects and picks. Maybe that is the best to hope for in the given situation.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑07 Nov 2025 16:24 pm I predict these 3 characteristics of the move:

Re: Blues Trade/Move Prediction
I believe that the vast majority of BluesTalkers and Blues fans would want Army to swap out the veteran underperformers for prospects and draft picks. It would make sense to just rebuild from the ground floor and build a powerhouse.MandatoryDenial wrote: ↑07 Nov 2025 17:46 pmSadly my crystal ball has been broken all of my life but I would be hopeful for a return that couldn’t be evaluated immediately because that usually means we are getting prospects and picks. Unfortunately, I firmly believe and predict that the thrust of this move will be to acquire immediate veteran help. Army will foresake the future for a few more immediate wins this year.
Why do I predict this?
- Army and Steen's jobs are on the line. If the team collapses, it would only make sense to throw them both out. Why would anyone trust either since Steen has been in the room with Army for a good while.
- Blues management needs the cash registers to ring and winning games in the immediate is 100% the game plan every day of the year.
- Blues management operates their team like no other team. Every team has TOP5 picks except the Blues. Florida and Edmonton each have 2. Every team in the playoffs last year had at least 1-- except the Blues. The smart move would be to play the prospects and see what you have -- AND TAKE YOUR LOSSES AS PART OF EVALUATING THE PROSPECTS. Unfortunately, the Blues don't think and operate like every other NHL team. They haven't in the past, and they are not starting now.

Re: Blues Trade/Move Prediction
Schenn gone, Kyrou gone, Thomas on a short leash is what I see.
These players were expected to lead this team. Schenn is doing what he can, but age catches us all. Kyrou is a shot princess, Bobby isn't aggressive enough and seems very disengaged.

Re: Blues Trade/Move Prediction
I just can’t see a big move involving Kyrou (or Buch) as it would be too good to be true for this front office.
Then again if it happens I’d probably hate the return now that the Blues are not in the driver’s seat regarding either player’s contract and the Army would likely be dealing from desperation due to early season struggles.
The play is this: sell the junk core and embrace #1 overall for one season (hopefully) which reduces desperation moves or make a hockey trade with Kyrou + buy more pieces and go for it this spring.

Edmonton has had NINE top 10 picks in the last 15 years, including four number one overall picks. They have zero Stanley Cup championships in that span.

Re: Blues Trade/Move Prediction
OP is a busted bot. Keeps saying the Blues have no top5 picks. Yet our captain Schenn was selected number 5. Can't fix things that don't make sense.St. Charles Bronson wrote: ↑07 Nov 2025 22:32 pm Edmonton has had NINE top 10 picks in the last 15 years, including four number one overall picks. Re: Blues Trade/Move Prediction
Schenn Faulk Binner. They’re not moving Kyrou or Thomas. I see Faulk being more likely because his value is probably as high as it’s gonna be trade wise.

It would be a great blessing to the organization when Kyrou leaves.
We don't need Coach-Killers, momentum-destroyers, pouters, nor any bull-headed and entitled p@ssies.
This train is bound for glory, this train.

Apparently we don’t need scorers either

Don’t you know Kyrou is the root of all evil? We want to go back to 1984 and as long as we have a couple fights in the game, it’s ok if we lose 2-1 as long as we’re working hard.netboy65 wrote: ↑08 Nov 2025 12:33 pmSay it some more. Everyone should hold contempt for an argument that says if X is a problem then the people who want it fixed desire the problem becomes the opposite of X.Bacchk29 wrote: ↑08 Nov 2025 12:52 pmDon’t you know Kyrou is the root of all evil? A pure failure of logic, always matched with sarcasm, it's so distinctly stupid in its flavoring
