Montgomery on why he scratched Kyrou: "I’m not going to get into specifics about my players. Everybody has a role & a responsibility on the team. When you don’t live up to your standard, you risk the chance of coming out of the lineup. It could have been a lot of guys."

to still be juggling lines this far into the season is... concerning
Re: GDT: Kraken at Blues 6:00 FanDuel
It's more rare to have "set lines" than it is to juggle anymore.moose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑08 Nov 2025 10:51 am to still be juggling lines this far into the season is... concerning

They've scored 2 even strength goals in the last 2 games and 1 was an ENG. Might as well try something else.moose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑08 Nov 2025 10:54 ama player or two moving..sure.. but this?kimzey59 wrote: ↑08 Nov 2025 10:53 amIt's more rare to have "set lines" than it is to juggle anymore.moose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑08 Nov 2025 10:51 am to still be juggling lines this far into the season is... concerning

Kyrou in for Texier
Schenn and Buch trading spots
I don't see that as nearly as big of a deal as you seem to.
Sunny and Jake being injured make the changes appear more drastic than they've really been.

Kyrou, although was benched, goes from 2nd line to first
Buch goes from 1st line to 2nd
Holloway goes from 3rd to 2nd
Snuggerud from 1st line to 3rd
Toro from 4th to 3rd
Joseph from 3rd line to 4th
Re: GDT: Kraken at Blues 6:00 FanDuel
Over the last couple of games, there's been a trend - moving the veterans back to the top lines. Kyrou and Schenn now to the top line, with Thomas, who has had a ton of different linemates this season. To be fair, the chemistry with Suter hasn't been there for Kyrou or Schenn, and I think the coach has to realize this. I like the 1st line b/c it leans on the leaders of this team from a forwards perspective, the forwards have familiarity with one another, AND it has excellent balance. Schenn = checking. Thomas = playmaker. Kyrou = sniper.
Snuggles moving down in the lineup, from 1st line to 3rd shows that he's still good, but 15 or so games in, I'm thinking he needs more time in the NHL before he's considered 1st line good. Not a knock, but he needs to cede some of that time to players who have been there before. He will be better off playing with Dvorsky anyways, but they're not going to be taking many defensive draws this game.
Buch and Hollywood simply haven't produced, but they shouldn't be on Dvorsky's line either, b/c Devo needs to play sheltered minutes, so these veterans need to work with Suter and simply figure it out. Hollywood is due. I hope the 2nd line can gel b/c we need some production there. I could see that line generating offense from the defense b/c they should be able to cycle and get the puck to the points - and then to the net. Suter does a great job picking up the trash off the goalie pads and putting it in the back of the net.
I think the 3rd line makes a TON of sense as constructed and to me it looks as if Toro is playing up a line, but he's filling a specific checking role in the offensive end for Dvo and Snuggles like Schenn is on the 1st line. At first I thought MoJo should be there, but now I'm realizing that the 3rd line will probably get less time on the ice than the 4th line will, so MoJo is a better fit on the 4th line, which will get a ton of defensive zone faceoffs and need to play a heavy 200ft game for the Blues for this lineup to work.

Re: GDT: Kraken at Blues 6:00 FanDuel
I don't see a need to overthink this. Team is struggling because the VETERAN forwards simply aren't getting it done. So, take away ALL the excuses, stack them all in the top-6. It's now CLEARLY on them.
Re: GDT: Kraken at Blues 6:00 FanDuel
From the start of the year; sure(you're missing the Dvorsky callup but whatever).moose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑08 Nov 2025 11:07 amSchenn goes from 2nd line to firstkimzey59 wrote: ↑08 Nov 2025 11:00 amThe only changes from last game aremoose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑08 Nov 2025 10:54 ama player or two moving..sure.. but this?kimzey59 wrote: ↑08 Nov 2025 10:53 amIt's more rare to have "set lines" than it is to juggle anymore.moose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑08 Nov 2025 10:51 am to still be juggling lines this far into the season is... concerning

From Last Game; no. Not even remotely.
Last game:
Buchnevich-Thomas-Tex
Holloway-Suter-Schenn
Toropchenko-Dvorsky-Snuggerud
Joseph-Bjugstad-Walker
Broberg-Parayko
Fowler-Faulk
Tucker-Kessel
The only changes from that lineup to tonight's lineup are Texier/Kyrou(which we all knew would happen) and Schenn/Buch.
We're even sticking with Hofer after he finally showed a pulse.

I am glad this game is in St. Louis and not out here, because then I would have to go watch them play the way they're playing right now. We all know they'll be killing it March Forth when they do visit, as they move out of the top 10 picks ...
