Every player has to be promoted based on their own play and growth. Mike Trout played in the majors at age 19. Did the Angels skip steps ? Yes, Did they rush him ? Some would argue Yes but looking at his major league years in his first three years, he could have played those at Double A and Triple A . If Pierpont /Bloom etc. deems a kid is ready , then you play him . They are the evaluators .
The question on his readiness for MLB will he how quickly they feel his secondary pitch(s) will play at MLB level. No doubt he has the fastball for MLB right now.
