Some would argue Yes but looking at his major league years in his first three years, he could have played those at Double A and Triple A . If Pierpont /Bloom etc. deems a kid is ready , then you play him . They are the evaluators .
The question on his readiness for MLB will he how quickly they feel his secondary pitch(s) will play at MLB level. No doubt he has the fastball for MLB right now.

Furthermore... he NEEDS work and repetition on the offspeed, or he'll be his Floor really quick....next closer for the St. Louis Cardinals. You don't rush this guy.

He'll likely K a bunch of people in AA, and more than half of you will say "OMG, it's Bloom and we should rush him now to the Majors". Please, don't ignore the other peripherals...BB/9, HR/9, BBA, etc.

Good pick, but he comes with some of the lowest floor I've seen in a #5 pick in a long time. That scares me.

#1 pick, he'll get an NRI (So did JJ, Chase, Hjerpe, etc)...unless he's injured. When does he go to AAA? When he's ready...not before.

Bloom and his proteges have definitely brought a new "feel" regarding Cardinal development. Which is a good thing.

Marmot and Blake cannot be anywhere near Doyle - EVER.

Matt Pierpont , Cardinals dir. of pitching, was with Seattle Mariners in 2023 as asst. pitching coordinator . That year the Mariners promoted P Brian Woo from Double A - Arkansas Travelers to the majors with Mariners.
Wonder if Cardinals under new regime would consider skipping Triple A or not .

Woo made his MLB debut on June 3, 2023, starting against the Texas Rangers. The Mariners' strategy for their top pitching prospects often involves skipping the Triple-A level to avoid the hitter-friendly conditions of the Pacific Coast League (PCL).

If Doyle plays in AAA this year, I hope to drive to Nashville and catch him pitching vs. the Brewers AAA team -the Sounds . That's about 2 hour drive for me ... and I can return the same night though late.
Going to Memphis is nearly 5 hours.. 326 miles one way.

Are you aware that baseball people acknowledge pitching for Tennessee in the SEC is akin to pitching in AA ball?

That's been the standard for years for first rounders out of that conference and others.

Using Trout as an example? Talk about an outlier.

Why didn't you mention David Clyde or Joe Nuxhall?

The point is a year or 20-25 starts at Memphis would be plenty in terms of learning. The team won't be competitive and there's no need to start his clock.

You pom pom wavers have a terrible habit of hyping up these "prospects" and then the excuses come later.

Can understand 'the kid has a lot to learn' as a reason for any player but do not follow the 'and the team isn't going anywhere next season ' as
rationale for not promoting a player who may be ready .
The Oakland A's were certainly 'not going anywhere in 2025 ' yet they promoted Nick Kurtz to the majors (the 4th pick in 2024 draft and three picks ahead of JJ Wetherholt ). The A's won fewer games than the Cardinals yet felt it OK to promote Kurtz for they felt he was ready . Don't see how 'the team isn't going anywhere ' justifies not promoting someone who the front office feels is ready. Kurtz was certainly deserving of a shot in the majors. The fact the team was lousy should not deter the FO to hold him back in the minors IMO
