Alec Burleson Wins Silver Slugger
WHY?
WHY?
Re: Alec Burleson Wins Silver Slugger
Due to his lower output against left-handed pitching, Burleson is typically deployed as a strong-side platoon hitter, meaning he starts primarily against righties.

Good for him....
-13 DRS (OF/1B)/-22 OAA (OF/1B) in his career
Just saw Bernie listed him as a potential trade candidate this offseason, not going to make shadymaple or granny cranny happy.
Re: Alec Burleson Wins Silver Slugger
Josh Smith won one of these as well.

WTG Burly Man! Now how many of you idiots want to trade him?
Re: Alec Burleson Wins Silver Slugger
Evidently MLB created a new participation award.
Maybe they can create an award for the most time a rookie put their jock on correctly. MLB is confused why they are losing fans.

You use all those subjective stats you want but the man can hit. We may also trade Contreras.rockondlouie wrote: ↑07 Nov 2025 11:21 amBeat me to it scoutyscoutyjones2 wrote: ↑06 Nov 2025 21:15 pmBasil Shabazz wrote: ↑06 Nov 2025 21:01 pm“Plays” multiple positionsPura Vida wrote: ↑06 Nov 2025 18:24 pmAgreed! Hey good for Burleson!
After tailing off the 2nd half of 2024 he put together a much more complete season.
It remains to be seen if he will emerge as a “core” player or more of a situational/platoon guy.
LOL... the guy catches too much grief on CT.
Compared to Gorman he’s Juan Soto!

Re: Alec Burleson Wins Silver Slugger
No one. Utility Silver Slugger has been an award for the merely above average. Burleson had a good season at the plate but was in no way award worthy. Nighthawk listed a couple other dubious honorees. I'd prefer MLB abolish the award.
Re: Alec Burleson Wins Silver Slugger
He had a better OAA in 2025 than a guy some want to put in LFriff raff wrote: ↑07 Nov 2025 12:16 pmYou use all those subjective stats you want but the man can hit. Bernie lol
and the better arm.
He's not ideal, but we can be consistent.
And yeah leave it to Bernie a little disingenuous and find a sample size of STATS that may show a player improved
so he can keep his agenda.
