Joseph is an enigma.'

I think Hofer gets next start due to the shutout.
Better to writeoff Binner. for s minute. Bench him. Binner will then rise up and prove his naysayers wrong yet again.

Totally fair point, and no disagreements here. I know a lot of folks like Tucker, and I will too as long as he wears the Blue note, but he's been terrible this year. It wasn't surprising to me that he only played 7 minutes last night and the Blues were better defensively.

By no means is he the only issue on this team, but its going to be a tough slog through the season if the bottom half of this roster can't be competitive.
People keep dogging Mailloux, but Tucker has looked like hot garbage the whole time. I like Tucker as a spot guy who mucks it up a bit. But he has no stick. He likes to be aggressive in the 0 zone but defenders need to be able to pass and skate with the puck first. The biggest miss to this season and I've been saying it since the summer is I don't know why Suter wasn't extended. It was clear we needed 1 more year to let Lindstein get up here where we actually have talent getting to the NHL. Tucker and Kessel aint it. And it's apparent that Suter covered for Tucker to allow him to not look so bad.

Someone else posted about Sunny offensively. Again, he was playing above his sticks consistently last year and having to play only defense because of the guys on his line. He has been tearing it up as a 4th liner or a 3rd line wing on the offensive zone. Bummer he got the bench, but I think that had a lot to with the Sunny drinking game. I know he is like TJ Oshie in this department. But the previous 2 games he spent more time on his knees and butt on the ice then he did skating.

Anyways, the fact of the matter is Kyrou chose not to show up for a full week of hockey. Apparently Sunny was noticeable too. Joseph has been a bright spot all season with his hustle. I don't think we want to see Texier on the top line again, but even he has decided to skate hard and hit some people as a non hitting player. If he didn't hit the couple bars he has had this year, It would be curious to see what level of confidence he played with.

We are a borderline playoff team. We rely on our goalies and our offense to score. Our top 4 defenders are probably in the running for top 5 defensive group in the league. Our bottom 2 drag those guys down to like 20-25 in the league. That gap is far too big and I don't understand how Army let that one go. Suter was very loud about wanting to move his family here if he got 1 more year.

Excellent points all around. You are correct about Sutter choosing to spend more time with his little ones while they are still little.

What would your opinion be about bringing Suter back and pairing him with Mailloux for the majority of remainder of the season? Kessel goes down, Tucker becomes 7D and gets spot duty when Mailloux needs a night next to MacInnis in the press box?

it's probably too late. you need ramp up time to be in shape. Unless suter had been skating and playing hockey since like august by himself. There's no indication a 40 year old could pull that off. I'm sure he didn't announce a retirement because he thought he could find a spot. But I don't see how adding him to the roster, at this stage works in theory.
