some on CT were taking about getting Zac Gallen.
not likely now as his is on this list. when trying to build from the draft, you can't give up a draft pick by signing a player who got a QO

Re: 13 players get QO
there was an earlier thread here on CT about Gleyber Torres.
I see he's on this list too, not that I thought the Cards would be interested.

Re: 13 players get QO
I still hold true to what I have stated in other threads. The Cards are not spending notable money or acquiring any big names this off season. Bloom will be dumping familiar faces that have had their shot and iffy, expensive contracts all in the name of revamping the minors system or to acquire young ready talent. Pitchers on one year deals to fill a hole are about the only actual contracts you will see until after the 2027 lockout. If there are notable contracts it will be someone like a Donovan, Libertore or Burleson willing to work for a discount to have long term stability. I expect to see 3 to 5 new faces on the 26 man roster to start April and they will not be Zac Gallen type names.

Re: 13 players get QO
Do you think anyone on this list takes the $22mm for one year? I'd guess Imanaga and King would at least think about it. Possibly Torres, too.82birds wrote: ↑06 Nov 2025 16:20 pm some on CT were taking about getting Zac Gallen.
