We absolutely don't want Don Mattingly in any shape or form managing the Cardinals!!! Not because of who he managed, or who he played for; we will have many young players; we need someone with the temperament to manage young players. Our new manager, if we get one, will have to wear many hats; sports psychologist, coach, manager, teacher, etc... Believe me - Mattingly is none of those. He's very rigid and not open to "new ways." Heckuva player though.

This type of manager who “coddles” young players is evidently what you see, and what you got. Get me a Marine DI who can turn them into a men, a true team.

I could not disagree with you more. One, I don't think you have any idea whether Mattingly can or cannot relate to young ballplayers. Two, I think all children, employees, players, etc., seek discipline, structure, and guidance. They may not state it, but they seek it.

Craziest thing I ever heard- but so true . It’s exactly why people join the military- they seek a discipline they can’t alone install. It’s present- needs kick started.
