I’d put at least two goals as partially Binnington’s fault. PCI’s goal I don’t know why do not go up the boards if you aren’t passing it to a person at least make them retrieve it. Throwing it within stick length of Ovi is weird.

He was swimming on the 3rd, no one played it well but he was basically outside of the crease from the very start. Completely lost the puck when Faulk was the playing to block the shot and he overplayed the initial shot then fell down.

I disagree, in a nice way. They are playing so poorly in front of him.

I’m not saying we aren’t playing poorly but the Blues have also had some grade A chances and Thompson has stopped them all. Goaltending is an issue for this team and TBH there has been so few clutch saves like the announcers have been saying. Blues are all too scared to take a risk defensively since all of them end up in the net. Shade a of Jake Allen in January for 3 years.

Do you really have confidence that Binny or Hofer are going to make a clutch save at the moment? I want to believe, we’ve seen it but I am frankly shocked at how good opposing goalies look vs. the Blues.

Well, I have no confidence in anyone on this team right now. The biggest difference that I can see at this point is that we lack finishers. Opposing teams have better goal scorers, better passing to set up the goals as well. Goaltending is a problem but they are back stoppers. Our defense and forwards need to do a better job at getting the puck in to our offensive zone and maybe keep it there and create more scoring chances. You will lose 5 -6 to zero if you create no scoring chances and play your entire game in your D zone. No goalie will be able to sustain that kind of pressure. Let's face it, the Blues are getting outcoached.

I really am shocked it seems like we are speed running every poor way to lose in the first 15 games of the season. Coping with the idea that if we lose by heartbreak every game we have more resilience than any team in history. Right?

Cya all tomorrow, watching something with my wife is probably a better use of time this evening. Blues didn’t show up to play tonight, but the Caps look closer to last year’s team than the ~.500 team tonight. We are far too passive to be effective.

Well, at some point something drastic is gonna have to be done. I don't know where the blame lies, but outside of Thomas, Neighbours, Dvorsky, and Snuggerud I would probably consider anything and everything on the table in terms of making changes.
