Well pretty obvious where they should be in a current power ranking. He actually might have them one spot to high. Doesn’t mean that’s where they will be come Jan 1st.

who here is disputing that the Blues aren't good right now? I think most fans will say the team is a bottom team at the moment. I point towards the goalie play for that. The Goalies are 2 of the top 5 worst goalies in the league for expected goals against right now. There really isn't coming back from that.

I think a lot of people assume that they will turn it around. History shows that should happen. These aren't back door tap ins like a couple years ago where it was clearly the defense hanging them out to dry. These are clear vision shots and then bad bounce stuff going in. I would have to assume that changes due to the goalies pedigree. Whether that single change is enough to make the team an above .500 team, we will have to wait and see.

But when the metrics show that your 5on5 team is top 10 in the league, and your goalies are dead last, I'll reserve hope that the team can rebound. As of today, the TEAM is not a good team. Gotta have goalies to be a good team.

i like the guy, he bases his opinions on the now, when doing his season updates, , not on how good a team can be. His opinion is, as of today, this team is not good.

Yes. Right now those rankings are largely irrelevant, they reflect a short span of hard knocks and bad play that isn't likely to project forward at that level.

Power Rankings don't mean anything except for those who prescribe to said persons opinion. I used to be all in on mock drafts for the NFL. There was once a time where it was really fun to do them yourself after the college season was over, and then compare them to those who were basically competing or betting on their livelihood that their mock drafts were more accurate. In todays world, that opinion doesn't matter. It's all fluff.

The Hockey Guy is a great content provider for hockey but he really isn't a source of information for how things are going. He doesn't make real predictions, he doesn't really have strong opinions. He basically lets you know what is going on in the league at any given time. Because of that, power rankings are useless from him. Because he is never factoring in back end results to what is going on. I really like the hockey guy. But he isn't speaking the truth, as much as he is a weatherman saying they predict rain when it is already raining.

that being said, the blues have proven 1 thing, their goalie play is bottom 5 in the league. So they belong in the bottom 5 until that changes. We have had 2 good outings from the goalies back to back. Hopefully a run can start from it.

I hate when people do power rankings and rank teams higher than what they are because they "SHOULD" be better or "SHOULD" be worse. What is the point of the power rankings then? Just look at the standings.
