He went and summoned his inner playoff bolduc and gave a couple jabs to the back of a red wings head. got lucky he didn't get a penalty. I think that was actually a good sign, reckless play, but comfortable enough because he was playing a bit better to express himself. Some dummies on this board celebrated Bolducs lashing out in the playoffs that repeatedly killed momentum giving dumb penalties. You would think they would have celebrated this.

He was credited with 0 Shots and has 3 on the season
They were deflected away, but they were heading toward the net. Very difficult to get them through from the point. Admittedly, sometimes a bomb not going on net from afar can get deflected in and that's good. But we have far too many shots that go high and wide from outside.
If you had ever played hockey at a high level, then you would understand that it is preferred to have the puck coming practically right at you as you position to screen and deflect it in. Sometimes they get deflected wide, it happens. Sometimes they hurt, but it takes guts to keep the screen knowing how it's going to feel.
If you ever get a chance to have conversations with former NHL players (and not just their friend) and ask the question about their former Official Scorer, then you could likely hear them say something like, "Yeah, I had some conversations with him about missing some of my stats." So, stats don't always tell the full story.
I was talking about the last game not the season. And those are above average wrist shots from that distance, both in release and velocity. Again, you very likely do not have the actual playing experience to understand that.

I'm no expert on how to evaluate young players chances beyond what I can and do see which, to the point, is admittedly not everything there is to see.

My position on LM is he has progressed significantly from his Blues game 1 to his game 7, pretty much across the board, meaning execution and decision making.

Long way to go but I don't see any big road blocks to him reaching a second pairing status, and a potentially good one at that.

I fully expect him to get tougher on the puck and boards as well.

Oh no you just did NOT.

You need to get with the program young man. Repeat after me…

If Mailloux makes a mistake, he’s the only Dman in NHL history with 13 games or fewer experience who has done so, and he sucks, and he’s incapable of improving.

IF Malloux plays good, you dont know what you’re watching and you dont understand the game of hockey, OR…his good game was a mirage, and Bolduc is headed for the HOF.

Blues admitting he’s not ready.

It’s pretty disappointing for them I’m sure, given there doesn’t seem to be progress from a year ago. Not good.

The way I see it, he's lost a lot of critical game development time due to Covid and other factors (pretty significant chunks of seasons). So while his physical age may be 22 .. in "game devo" years, he's probably closer to 18. And that's tough for defenseman in this league. I've seen glimpses of why the Blues went after him. He's clearly not AHL ... he's a tweener and the Blues have seen enough to let him learn in the league. He has the tools and the instincts. Be patient.

That’s a lot to ask of the players competing…and coaching trying to force square pegs.

If he’s not ready he’s not ready.

Yes, incredible as it sounds, YOU should need a source for YOUR data.

Verson, I'll hang up and put you back on ignore and hope that posters stop quoting you.

My data is he barely plays … even when he plays. You think that’s by design and that it’s ideal on multiple levels…ouch

-9 lol

If you’re going to yell out YOU’s, YOU should probably understand the sport and this current team a little better.

So far, he doesn't look like he'll be any better than Jamie Rivers.
