In the bottom of the 11th, the Blue Jays had a man on 3b with only one out. Then Barger walked. The double play ended it.
Do you think they walked Barger on purpose with a slow catcher coming up, in order to set up a possible double play?

Re: Question
Not an intentional walk. But they were not going to let Barger tie or beat them. Pitches outside the zone that he couldn't do much with if making contact. They were OK if he walked because it would set up a double play.
Re: Question
Agree with this, but the risk was putting the potential game winning run on base. But it worked. Great Series.JuanAgosto wrote: ↑02 Nov 2025 21:35 pm Not an intentional walk. Re: Question
They definitely pitched around him, but it was stupid. They should have just passed him. Obviously, you want a runner at first in that situation.
