I would argue against the apparent strategy for 2026 to deal as ll the expensive veterans and not acquire at least 1bat and 1 starter for the coming season.and staying with the same manager. Why throw this season away? How will they attract talent in the future if they show this attitude?

Another option is that maybe Bloom likes Oli and doesn’t think he’s a bad manager. Lots of people hated Tony LaRussa, and still do, regardless of the success he had here. Now I’m not saying that Oli is in Tony’s league, but fans can be pretty irrational about managers. And all the media in town reports that players really love Oli as well.

So maybe he’s the guy that Bloom wants to take a chance with. Or at least give himself one year (a rebuild year) to work with him and see how that goes. But I get it. When fans have their pitchforks and torches out for a guy it is hard to convince the mob to chill out for a bit.

It doesn't matter if the players love him. It is all about in game managing, lineups, and strategy which he has faults.

Maybe, but at least two POBOs disagree. Or at the least one of them isn’t sure and wants a year to work with him to see if he wants to extend him or go another direction. I’m willing to trust them.
