Re: Kirby Moore is the weak link
I have been saying this for two seasons and believe most of you guys finally see the light. hdhntr148 is just NOT an expert to judge a Power 4 level coordinator or QB coach.
Asking to be a baby sitter, aka known as a JFL assistant football coach, does NOT give him a better understanding of what will work against an SEC defense.
Yet the woefully inadequate 148 tries desperately to build up his self esteem by criticizing a successful person.
A couple of other posters have claimed to be JFL baby sitters before or JV play callers. ANYONE has to better than hdh especially in Mizzou Talk. JMHO but he should be restricted to get his incompetence out of the forum.
Abner was just as lousy a poster as 148 and lost a huge amount of credibility in his first three years because of his sideways inferiority complex and unworthiness.

I was at Faurot so when I saw that he was in at QB, I thought it must have been a deal where Beau had his helmet come off or the like. It would have been bad enough if it was just an unlucky set of circumstances like that but to call that play for HORN to come off the bench to run is beyond dumb.boulanger wrote: ↑26 Oct 2025 14:25 pmthat was my immediate thought at the time. he was supposed to get the whole 2nd half with the 1st team offense, and instead they send him on a suicide run in the first quarter, for no reason at all. still can't believe how stupid that was.jcgmoi wrote: ↑26 Oct 2025 08:32 amThat's the key point. Moore isn't operating in a vacuum.I don't care who the OC is both he and the head coach are to blame.
The Pribula injury could have happened any time. That's the risk you take with a running QB. Horn otoh got ambushed. In a game where the focus should have been on letting him get some game time reps and giving him a clean pocket so he could deal, they decide his first play should be a run. WTF were they thinking?

Re: Kirby Moore is the weak link
Off the wall question, but is JFL still around in St. Louis? Those were some good days!
Re: Kirby Moore is the weak link
I just don't know how anyone can be sure who is calling plays at any particular time. Unless you have access to the team's communications, or you're a fly on the wall at team meetings.....no one has any idea who called for three consecutive play station plays near the goal line after Hardy blasted for 8 on 1st down.
What do we know as FACT !?!?
Eli Drinkwitz is the Head Coach....this is HIS offense, this is HIS defense, this is HIS special teams....and this is HIS 7-16 win/loss record against top 25 ranked teams during his tenure at MIZZOU. And this is HIS 49-28 overall won/loss record as Head Coach of MIZZOU
Ask yourself....are you grading on a curve given the PATHETIC 40+ year history of this football program accepting a 63% winning percentage, 30% against top 25 ranked teams ???
Ya think the Athletic Administration, not to mention the fan base, at Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Ohio State, Notre Dame, LSU, Texas AM, Oregon, Michigan, etc.... would accept losing one out of three games they played in a 5 year span...played against foes with similar if not worse talent ? Sure, are there teams in the SEC with worse records against top 25 teams and SEC competition overall ???? YES!
And they are called DOORMATS for a reason.
MIZZOU under the leadership of Eli Drinkwitz is the threshold just after the doormat, if not the doormat itself.....this supporter of team MIZZOU since 1978 isn't...enuff is enuff...if it walks like a duck and it talks like a duck...it must be a duck!
Btw...TEXAS is up 24-10 at halftime against that vaunted Vanderbilt team

Have yet to see a designed run for Manning today.

And the Longhorns are making Swiss cheese out of the Vandy secondary. Last week’s loss is looking worse all the time.

Re: Kirby Moore is the weak link
Even before today's game I think most of us thought that vandy was overrated. Their "12th" year quarterback who was portraying himself as a heisman contender isn't all that. That was a game that not only mizzou could have won but should have won. The announcers on the game today have mentioned multiple times that vandy was fortunate to beat mizzou last week. It would be nice to finally win a game that you're not favored to win (I know that vandy was favored by the point spread). They will have 2 more chances to do so this year.

Yep, we have seen what real OCs look like when Bama and Texas beat Vandy. Manning is not good on deep ball accuracy, yet they went deep with 2 tries in the first quarter. While neither connected it opened up short passes that they broke for long gain because the safeties could not be in the box. Moore (or Drink if he is forcing the play calling) are pathetic at calling plays and designing an offense.
Re: Kirby Moore is the weak link
Pavia throws ball at TX CB after running it in - No call for taunting. Just love the SEC.

They did call unsportsmanlike for that but it was offset by a Texas penalty. The final score was much closer than the game actually was.

We have not beaten a single team that has a winning record as of today. 'Nuff said.
