My near future lines
1. Neighbours/Thomas/Kyrou
2. Holloway/Dvorsky/Snuggs
3. Schenn/Suter/Buch
4. Joseph/Walker/Toropchenko
Obviously, this can't happen until Thomas and Neighbours return. The Dvorsky line could be together for years. Players like Schenn and Buch need to be replaced as soon as possible with our top draft picks who have yet to make it to the parent club. Sundkvist and Bjugstad are the extras.
I'm just agreeing with others in that I'd prefer to see the young players emerge even if it means we take another year to become a serious playoff contender.

Re: My near future lines
Schenn still under contract for 2 years after this. Buchnevich is under contract for 5 more years.
They won't be replaced anytime soon for "top draft picks".

Re: My near future lines
Despite the cra ppy way they lost again, at least I came away from this one with some real hope about Holloway getting going. He looked by the eye test way closer to the old Holloway from last year, last night. Blues desperately are counting on that as part of a playoff push over the remaining 71 games. I personally am invested in whether he gets at least 23 goals and at least 63 points, so having him flying around out there with more chances with dangerous other people who also play the game the right way was good to see.
Dvorsky – for me I know the glimpse that we got last night is real. I have seen it. Now, he will have some miscues like any rookie but you are seeing an authentic 200' player who is part of the solution. Snuggerud's most encouraging game was last night too, so that is three bits of good news that are structurally critical.
If these three guys were able to provide a potent and dangerous new pop to the Blues' offense, then this needs to be a reasonably goaltended team that gets to the playoffs. Their defense is decent enough to get them there, but we are looking wild card at best now that we've squandered the pace.

Re: My near future lines
Well, you'll have to wait at least five weeks.
Walker has played center, rather poorly at times. He's much better on a wing and Sunny still adds elements this team needs. 4C is a good home for him, SOMEBODY needs to step up down there. Well, all of them, because they've been MIA.
My issue here is these don't appear to be lines to pop in the oven and bake for the long haul. They need some pairs or lines to click, that hasn't happened yet.
Schenn deserves a thread. He's the C and has hockey sense and he's tough and he can play in all situations but he's been dragging the team down with his lack of production. He's tracking for 40 points and minus-90. He keeps that up his line assignment may be color man on the broadcasts.

Re: My near future lines
I'm so tired of the feckless and turnover prone play of Kyrou that I'd move him down to 3rd line. He's the forward that needs to play sheltered minutes on this team.
I'd go with:
Holloway-Thomas-Neighbours Think these 3 could be tough to play against and feed off each other nicely
Buch-Dvorsky-Snug Hope the young hungry guys pull Buch into a better place.
Schenn-Suter-Kyrou Sorry Mr Suter because you deserve better than an aging out vet and a complete headache on your wings.
4th line has plenty of parts to mix and match

Re: My near future lines
I think Texier is waived down to the A and Torop is the odd man out in the box rotating with Walker. Blues are moving ahead with Dalibor as 2C hopefully Schenn is a LW now and I agree Buch needs to move down to the 3rd line

Re: My near future lines
Schenn will be like Steen, accept the roll asked of him and retire as a Blue.
Re: My near future lines
Schenn and Buch don't have to be traded or benched or "replaced" for now...just find the right role if they can't hold their own.
