Re: Rice does NOT belong in burritos
Agreed! Rice is just a cheap filler for a burrito. When I see that there is rice in a burrito, I'd never order it.

Here's an idea, when you order a burrito, just tell them to leave out the rice.

if there are no beans is it really chili ?BrummerStealsHome wrote: ↑18 Aug 2025 09:32 amAgreed. And this is merely a testing of the waters for some REAL culinary controversy . . . . like beans in chili.SRV1990 wrote: ↑18 Aug 2025 08:33 amFirst thing I thought of when I read this was that nutjob Beld trying to tell everyone how they should like their coffee and what is an acceptable way to drink it!BrummerStealsHome wrote: ↑16 Aug 2025 12:14 pm It's among the unwritten rules of food.
It's filler. If you need filler then your burrito is inferior. Besides, you get all the carbs you need from the tortilla.![]()
With that said, I like rice but not in my burrito. So I'm OK with your position on this most pressing issue. Also, you're a great poster on here, whereas Beld was full of himself and a d-bag.

Many would say that if it has beans it is NOT chili! Your mileage may vary!dugoutrex wrote: ↑31 Oct 2025 13:15 pmif there are no beans is it really chili ?BrummerStealsHome wrote: ↑18 Aug 2025 09:32 amAgreed. You can have chili without beans, but you can't have good chili without beans.WeeVikes wrote: ↑31 Oct 2025 14:01 pmMany would say that if it has beans it is NOT chili! Personally, I like beans in my chili, and I use ground beef, both something at which chili “purists” scoff. That’s fine with me. They can eat what they like, I’ll eat what I like!abuxb wrote: ↑31 Oct 2025 23:01 pmYou can have chili without beans, but you can't have good chili without beans.WeeVikes wrote: ↑31 Oct 2025 14:01 pmMany would say that if it has beans it is NOT chili!
