Don't make a bad situation worse by making clearly flawed decisions
Agreed.

Stick Dvo at 3C, get him some PP time but otherwise sheltered 5 on 5 minutes.
No need for "sheltered" minutes at all Dvorsky stepped right into the role as a top 6 center at 20 yrs old played very well in my view. Kudos to the Blues for recognizing the kids talent now and ripping the bandaid off vs sticking him down the line up with little chance to contribute.
Next step is lets see how he can produce and what happens with a healthy Blues line up.

He got the 7th most ice time last night. So while he was listed on the 2nd line, it was a guy listed on the 3rd line that led all forwards in icetime. He got 13:51 minutes 5 on 5, 2:45 on the PP and no time on the PK. So Dvo was sheltered a bit.

In the end, I think you and I wanted pretty much the exact same thing. You just seem to be averse to the word sheltering for whatever reason. He was marginally sheltered, which is precisely what you should do with a young player like that and it helped to allowed him to really shine last night. I thought he looked really good and hope he keeps it up.

Let the record reflect I said "over" 50 games this year for our clear top prospect. We shall see but it's setting up well

When comparing DVO to Mailloux, it was a very good story for DVO. DVO is younger. Less experience. No glaring mistakes. Obvious positives. Good mental play. I was happy to not hear any negatives about his skating as well. He seemed to keep up with the pack.

The Canucks with some players out is the closest thing to an AHL team DVO could see. :). Hopefully, the good stories continue for a long time.

Schenn was above 50 percent last year and is 51.5 percent this year.

Others' comments about Dvorsky as a "franchise center" seem premature.

Monday he was 6 of 14 and Tuesday 4 of 12. Tuesday featured the Larkin goal on a play off a clean win vs Schenn on the draw.

Yeah, playing against a weak Canuckleheads lineup. He'll get ripped a new one in the next few games.

Unfortunately for the Blues sake DD did not get time in OT and i dont believe he had any PK time. I mean i get it hes 20 yrs old but the reality is he currently is the Blues most skilled center not named Thomas. Monty is very conservative some could say practical in his use of his players. The cream will rise to the top eventually as you say

I saw Stenberg on the 4th line in Springfield looks like he may have work to do
