Goalie Interference
Game never should have gone to OT/SO.
I am happy the Blues at least got a point I guess but this league is wack sometimes.

Re: Goalie Interference
I thought it should have counted. Pretty tight enforcement there

Re: Goalie Interference
Not the most blatant, but he was in the crease fully of his own accord and physically interfering with Binnington. That’s pretty textbook even if he didn’t do much.

Re: Goalie Interference
I guess it was goalie interference but I wouldn’t have thought anything of it without the endless replays.
Re: Goalie Interference
I’ve seen worse allowed to stand
Re: Goalie Interference
I’m not sure what you guys were watching but that was clear interference. MacK stick checked Binner right before the shot came. The contact with his skate was also there but look at what he did to Binner’s stick. Can’t do that and really stupid

Re: Goalie Interference
Goalie interference calls are the worst because no one seems to know what the rules are. Might as well just flip a coin and move on.

Re: Goalie Interference
If it were clearly interference then the review wouldn't have taken 5 minutes. I've watched a lot of hockey and overturning that goal was bonkers IMO. Incidental contact happens even if it's on purpose.
Re: Goalie Interference
The contact looked like goaltender interference, it was challenged, and on review it was deemed interference. It was potentially a two-point call, they exercised due diligence.
It was a good challenge, right call. Blues fans were very pleased.

I’ve never seen a player slash a goalie’s stick right before a shot and it not be interference.Harold_Melvin wrote: ↑30 Oct 2025 23:19 pmIf it were clearly interference then the review wouldn't have taken 5 minutes. I assume it took longer than it should because the refs were closely looking at the skate contact over and over again before they realized the stick check that happened after that. Easy call

If the goalie's stick was slashed "right before" the shot then it wouldn't have taken so long to review. It took a long time to review because no one knows the rules...not even the refs.stlblue06 wrote: ↑30 Oct 2025 23:36 pmI’ve never seen a player slash a goalie’s stick right before a shot and it not be interference.Harold_Melvin wrote: ↑30 Oct 2025 23:19 pmIf it were clearly interference then the review wouldn't have taken 5 minutes. Re: Goalie Interference
I thought it was borderline initially, but I was looking at the first action when he hits Binnington's skate. Monty said they tried to buy time to look at it and went for it when it appears he hooks Binnington's stick. They felt 80% confident they would get it.
Re: Goalie Interference
Pretty clear to me.
(1) an attacking player, either by his positioning or by contact, impairs the goalkeeper’s ability to move freely within his crease or defend his goal; or
(2) an attacking player initiates intentional or deliberate contact with a goalkeeper, inside or outside of his goal crease. ...

Re: Goalie Interference
Naaa that one was pretty easy. Mac was holding down Binningtons stick.
He was very obviously, even if unintentionally, interfering with Binningtons ability to make the save.
