Gator fans have started a petition against signing DRINK!!!
Florida fans have started a petition against the hiring of Eli Drinkwitz. Looks like Mizzou fans are ready to sign it, too.

Be careful what you wish for.
Re: Gator fans have started a petition against signing DRINK!!!
Florida beats a top #10 Texas team and a couple weeks later fires the coach, if Drink beats a top #10 Texas team in Columbia, it would be pandemonium in the streets, the fans would storm the field and tear down the goal post, and the admin would rush to give him another raise and extension.
In Florida beating top #10 Texas gets you a couple weeks, then you get fired.
Drink would never survive at Florida, Penn State, LSU, etc.
Drink is making $9 million per year, tied for top #10 highest paid coach in the country, but Mizzou doesn't expect top #10 results, those other schools do.
Drink is a big fish in a small pond, just keep beating the unranked teams, go to a cupcake bowl, and you make top #10 money.
Those other school would fire him.

Re: Gator fans have started a petition against signing DRINK!!!
as I have said several times Eli would NOT win the Press conference and there would very likely be booing. Why would he go into those massive pressure cookers at LSU, FL, PSU, AR or any of the openings out there. Has it made right where he is.
BTW where do we sign that petition? LOL
On Pawwllll's show all the big brand schools fans are calling in and screaming they better not bring a second tier coach like Drink to them or they will revolt! LOVE IT.
Tiger fans are filling all the seats and great facilities he has built. Drink has it made and he's not one of these big ego fools like BK or SS.
Wouldn't it be really crazy if the vastly over rated Steve S left Tejas for NFL? IMO while many rave about his playcalling and scheming he couldn't coach up his all world QB last year to finish one yard to Playoff glory. That is another Huge pressure environment.

That would put him in a long line

This is the most disingenuous post I’ve seen in a while. It may be a bit hyperbolic, but he was trying to make a point. And it's not far from the truth.woofy25 wrote: ↑30 Oct 2025 13:56 pmThis is the most disingenuous post I’ve seen in a while. I just watched a video with CBS' Tom Fornelli talking about filling open coaching slots. He expects Kiffin will stay at Ole Miss. No mention of Drinkwitz. His other guesses/wishes are:
LSU--Tulane's HC Jon Sumrall
Florida--Georgia's DC Glenn Schumann
Penn State--Nebraska's HC Matt Ruhle
Virginia Tech--South Carolina's Shane Beamer
Arkansas--South Florida's HC Alex Golesh
OK State--North Texas' HC Eric Morris
UCLA--Washington's HC Jedd Fisch
Stanford--TV and former HC Dallas Cowboys

Napier’s been on the hot seat for multiple years. He lost to a group of five school, was 3-4 this season, and everyone knows Texas isn’t good. It’s just complete nonsense to somehow suggest that beating top 10 teams is the norm in Gainesville but it’s not good enough. Napier was 22-23 as the head coach at UF. I don’t think Missouri fans would be too happy about that record either. Drink was on the hot seat going into 2023.icon wrote: ↑30 Oct 2025 15:06 pmIt may be a bit hyperbolic, but he was trying to make a point. I actually agree with both of you. Mizzou definitely gives Drink more latitude than Florida would. But it is true Mizzou isn’t exactly an easy job, he was on the hot seat going into that ‘23 season. I will say Texas is not bad. They almost beat Ohio State and they throttled a good Oklahoma team. Texas has tremendous talent and any given day they’ll play like a top 10 team. They’re just really inconsistent obviously.woofy25 wrote: ↑30 Oct 2025 15:49 pmNapier’s been on the hot seat for multiple years. I’ll also say this. Drink has done well here. The winning has been fun. But he needs to win big games consistently and knock off top 10 teams. And make playoffs. We’re spending a fortune on football. Neglecting other programs like baseball. I give Drink this year as kind of a rebuilding year. But I, for one, will be extremely disappointed next year if we don’t make the playoff. To me, next year is Drink’s year to absolutely get it done. He needs to keep the talent here and bring back a loaded roster. If not, he should be on the hot seat.
Re: Gator fans have started a petition against signing DRINK!!!
I disagree. How can making the playoff be the standard when it’s never happened? Their defense is going to be decimated after this season. They’re losing a ton. No way drink replaced it all and the schedule is just gong to get harder. One more conference game and the opponents are better. If drink leaves at all, it’s don’t to be this yearArmchair QB wrote: ↑30 Oct 2025 19:10 pmI actually agree with both of you. Mizzou definitely gives Drink more latitude than Florida would. Matt Rhule signs a two-year extension that bumped his buyout to $15M.
Maybe Brian Kelly is Penn State's top target now.
