A House of Dynamite

Post by VegasVinny »

There seems to be very little middle ground with respect to reviews on Netflix's A House of Dynamite. It's a doomsday thriller with a Sopranos twist.

Idris Elba plays POTUS as a military base in Alaska detects a nuclear weapon off the coast of the Pacific bound for middle America. The movie captures several perspectives from bureaucrats to national security personnel to the secretary of defense to the president as their window to make decisions is extremely small.

There are a lot of acronyms thrown out throughout the film as it takes you through the Situation Room and other locations we unwashed masses will never sniff, but the producers do a good job of explaining what most acronyms mean. It's also worth mentioning that the audience hears the same conversation more than once as it hops around from character to character.

It was a dark, intense, and (darkly) thought-provoking hour and 55 minutes.

I thought it was excellent. It's hard to discuss it without ruining it for everyone.

I thought it was pretty good too. Definitely worth watching.

Can’t believe the Nuke landed on Greenland and destroyed it in the beginning of the movie though. That was unfortunate 8)
