Chaim Bloom revealed to Matt Pauley of KMOX Sports in a radio interview that Opening Day is neither entirely off the table nor entirely guaranteed for Nootbaar following his surgery. Bloom adds that they don’t intend to rush the rehab process in order to get him back on time for the start of the season, but that if he were to miss time to open the season the absence would be limited.

This is actually great news meaning Noot's recovery is much closer to the 6 month estimate!
The best news would be he can now be traded sooner than previously thought. Certainly, recovery to play for the Cards sooner is not a reason to celebrate.
Not the right time now to trade him "sooner" RoJo because you'd get absolutely nothing but a lotto ticket prospect.

Big reason to celebrate if he's back on the field late April/early May and puts together a couple solid months which would increase his trade value and the return.
As has been said about many before Noot, he’s not worth the powder it takes to blow him to hell. Better try to work a trade to a Japanese team. They are the only ones who will pay something for him.
What the Noot-haters in here ignore is his solid 2021 - 2024 slash line of .246 .348 .425 .774.

The only real knock on Noot is his inability to stay healthy.

An OF'er with a .348 OB% and .774 OPS over 392 games from 2021 - 2024 (we now know he played 2025 in pain) is a player who will bring back a solid prospect AFTER he's recovered from his heel surgery.

Agree, Nootbar is a 4th outfielder on a really good team.
He will have 1 good month and the rest of the season he is usually just a platoon player.
