At the other end of the spectrum, Stoops has been at Kentucky for years turning out over-achieving teams but looks to have worn out his welcome. He'll probably get pink-slipped this year, with a nice buyout of course.

Mentality can change in a heartbeat.

Drinkwitz recently signed an extension so his contract goes through 2029. There are also buyout clauses if Mizzou terminates his contract for convenience or if he gets happy feet and leaves. If he leaves he pays the school much less than if the school terminates him (see below).

Contract details
Extension length: The contract is extended through the 2029 season.

Salary and compensation:
2025: $9 million
2026: $9.25 million
2028: $9.5 million
2029: $9.5 million

Buyout for Drinkwitz:
If he leaves before December 1, 2025: $5 million

If he leaves between December 2, 2025 and December 1, 2027: $4 million

If he leaves between December 2, 2027 and December 1, 2028: $3 million

If he leaves between December 2, 2028 and December 1, 2029: $1 million

Buyout for the university: If the university fires him without cause, they owe him 75% of his remaining guaranteed compensation.
