Kelly out at LSU
Just flashed on ESPN. THE SEC can be brutal.
Re: Kelly out at LSU
$54 million buy out. I gotta figure out a way to become a college football coach.
Re: Kelly out at LSU
You could tell vs aTm the end was near - people were mailing it in. Remember when they dumped Ed Orgeron not to long after winning a Nat'l Championship? I wouldn't work there - the place is full of drama queen boosters with stupid money.
Re: Kelly out at LSU
Per CBSSports, a 30-day transfer portal window for LSU players will open Monday.

Kelly is going to be looking for a TV gig. Hope Baker's wife is happy - Didn't last two seasons.MIDMOBIRDTWO wrote: ↑26 Oct 2025 20:04 pmDoubt Kelly will be taking any of them to his next gig. If it were me I would be taking a ten year vacation to fish my favorite lakes all over the midwest. He can afford it.
Guess Kiffin is at the top of LSU's candidate list.

These “blue bloods” are putting themselves behind the 8 ball with coaches. Financially and in terms of attractiveness of the job. Yeah Florida, Penn State, and LSU have rich histories and the ceilings are high. But not sure who they’re going to get to go where you’re simply not allowed to lose a little until you can get your program in place.

He was not a good fit at LSU, but then Ed Orgeron seemed perfect, but losing is not tolerated either way. Not in Bengal Bayou.JackBolly wrote: ↑26 Oct 2025 20:06 pmKelly is going to be looking for a TV gig. What the pundits and sports writers aren't looking at is pre-NIL/ Portal and post-NIL/ Portal in judging an LSU, FL, or PSU. It's the reason Saban isn't coming back.Armchair QB wrote: ↑26 Oct 2025 20:09 pm These “blue bloods” are putting themselves behind the 8 ball with coaches. This how I see it as well. LSU’s program has a style that they expect to be upheld from coach to coach, Kelly isn’t that kinda guy.MIDMOBIRDTWO wrote: ↑26 Oct 2025 20:11 pmHe was not a good fit at LSU, but then Ed Orgeron seemed perfect, but losing is not tolerated either way. Also let’s be real, Kelly did well at Notre Dame but he (like many others) never really had those marquee wins. His name exceeded his reputation because of Notre Dame’s reach.
Re: Kelly out at LSU
I know it happened a long time ago, but when Kelly sent the kid up in the manlift in strong winds to take video and it blew over killing the kid I thought Kelly was no good. It was sickening how all the Domers circled wagons making excuses for Kelly. Even the kids parents had to publicly absolve Kelly to be good little Domers. Very sickening IMHO, and very hypocritical.Barksdale's People wrote: ↑26 Oct 2025 20:20 pmThis how I see it as well. Re: Kelly out at LSU
Not surprised. The scene in Baton Rouge while being blown out by aTm was really bad -- Kelly screaming at assistants, Nussmeier hanging his head, empty stands in the 4th quarter. That gets you fired there. Their fans have been bailing on him for a while on SECrant.

Re: Kelly out at LSU
Jack, when I was a young fireman in the US Navy I was sent up the stacks with another kid holding a tarp in one hand and climbing the ladder with the other. We were 50 feet in the air in a 40 knot gale, to cover the stacks to prevent rain from entering the exhaust stacks. I yelled over to the other guy that if the wind caught the tarp wrong just let it go, do not try to be a hero. Our folks would not have known what happened, even though heads would have rolled internally with our higher ups. OSHA does not control everything. I never knew that about Kelly, but he was in charge and should have been accountable in my opinion.JackBolly wrote: ↑26 Oct 2025 20:25 pmI know it happened a long time ago, but when Kelly sent the kid up in the manlift in strong winds to take video and it blew over killing the kid I thought Kelly was no good. Re: Kelly out at LSU
Kiffins “wife” is not going to LSU. She wants to be in Gainesville where she was born and where her family lives. People will say they are divorced but she has custody of the kids and Lane and her still move together when Lane relocates. She followed him to Tennessee, California, and Oxford. Layla is probably there this weekend picking out houses for them both.JackBolly wrote: ↑26 Oct 2025 20:06 pmKelly is going to be looking for a TV gig.
