Florida, Penn State, etc. blue bloods that have been caught be the next tier of teams like Ole Miss and Mizzou who are actually better jobs now.

There is really nothing those programs can offer a Drinkwitz that he doesn’t already have. It’s going to be hard for Penn State or Florida to find someone their fans will accept, who’ll take the job. Their expectations aren’t realistic.

If Kiffen doesn't take the Florida job he is likely not taking another job any time soon. Going to either PSU or Florida is not a secure long term situation unless you bring home a lot of bacon. Most coaches are cocky and brash enough to believe they are the one that can beat the odds. Hope Drink stays.

have seen several talking heads sportswriters who say sure FL and PSU are great opportunities BUT you can win a NC from any SEC school. With those positions where money WILL be the same as well as NIL why would either leave situations where the fans are Not insane demanding spoiled fools? Where they have the total backings of their administrations and AD's and state legislatures. Plus Drink will have his stadium build complete by next season. This dance will get both more money and NIL but unless Lane's ex/ future wife absolutely demands to go to Gainesville he should stay. The FL fans are going crazy for him but that just means more immediate pressure.

If Florida doesn't screw up like Bama did and goes after Kiffin, Lane will go. Ole Miss is doing well but you're not winning a natty there. Lane will go to Florida, not as much for the money but for the improved chances at a championship.

Parity has arrived. Gone are the days when Florida could lord it over many other SEC programs with their wealth of high school recruits. Scoring in the portal and with NIL has changed the dynamic. That's how Kiffin has built Ole Miss. And how Drink has built Missouri. Florida may rise again under a new coach, but it won't be nearly as easy.

Nice feather for Drinks cap. I think he deserves this kind of recognition for what he has accomplished here.

Florida hasn't offered anything up...yet......but who ever it is that might come calling it's up to Drink and pretty hard to say what he could do with any such offers.

If I could I would ask him only 2 questions. Are you happy here? Can you win a NT here?

I would know a lot more about his true intentions if I knew the true answers to those questions.

Here's all dhsux needs to know then, even though anyone paying just some attention to college football recently would already know this .

Drink would obviously answer YES and YES.

And realistically, the answers are YES and YES as well

So, you're welcome, as that's one less thing you'll need to even concern yourself with moving forward.

Call me crazy if you want but I believe ego and not money is what drives Drinkwitz.

MU has treated him well upping the ante at every turn and fulfilling Im sure assurances made when he was hired to state of the art facilities and university support.

He could very well be on his way to cementing a legacy here and not in places where he'd be in a former coaches shadow and past national championships.

Hard to believe he would work this hard to get to this point at MU and leave for a relative few more dollars just to start over into possibly a less forgiving environment.

I believe this "family" or "brotherhood" that seems to attract recruits and transfers and seeing it through motivate him more than money.

I believe he is determined to make his mark here and not be a mercenary going from bidder to bidder.

Let's hope so. At 42 he already has more money than he'll ever spend. But, when you have a big ego, those folks usually want more and more money. We shall see.

Mike Anderson was the king of using that ploy to get raises.
