But I see him staying at Mizzou for a long time. It's just a real good fit.

It talks to where Missouri is as a program. Drink is a great recruiter and motivator, but until he proves he can win big games I doubt he would really make the cut for a Florida type HC role. I think the media is starting to see him in a similar light as James Franklin. Blue blood programs are very intolerant of losing big games. When Drink came he was an unknown so he had to take chances on coordinators. For us to take the next step forward, he needs to show he can fire underperformers and hire elite talent to surround himself. Again look at Saban’s staff in 2015 as they are now all elite HCs (Kiffin, Smart, Lanning, Cristobal).
Think Gators fans watched Missouri score 10 points in a loss to Vanderbilt and got hyped about a Drinkwitz candidacy? Steady though he’s been, Drinkwitz's record in marquee games lingers as a concern.
There’s the Missouri imitation who’s got a big-game problem. There’s the conservative choice from Penn State’s scrapyard who’s also got a big-game problem.

Drink is making $9 million per year, tied for 10th highest paid coach in the country, he isn't going anywhere.

At the schools his name keeps getting rumored at he would never survive, those other schools fire the coach when they cant win the big games.
