Re: The projected lineup for tonight....
We need Toro back in a BAD way.
Re: The projected lineup for tonight....
I don't like it. Holloway isn't a fourth liner and would probably be looking a lot better if he was allowed to play his game with linemates that also play his game.
This need for skill to work the boards, and chase hits isn't the hockey that says re-sign here.

Re: The projected lineup for tonight....
Reeks of panic and no it won’t stay that way. And no we don’t need Torpo back.
Re: The projected lineup for tonight....
Holloway started the year with Schenn and Kyrou.
ALL he did was chase hits(he's already at 20 hits for the year).
He's been a train wreck defensively, hasn't been going to the front of the net and isn't moving his feet when he has the puck.
He SHOULD be on the bench for a game or two. And he probably would be if Toro were healthy.
Wanting to be more physical is great; but not when it comes at the expense of everything that made you successful last year. He needs to get back to that speed game instead of trying to be a tough guy.

I wonder if there's still something going on with Dylan physically or mentally coming off his injury. 4th line is a way to limit shifts and minutes, you just do not do that with a fully capable Holloway even if he is in a slump.
Although, that 4th line is more akin to a 3rd line than a 4th. It could light up the scoreboard. Does Monty want to run four lines in rotation for a while then collapse them, see who came to play?

Makes it harder for Detroit to match lines also even though they have the last say.DawgDad wrote: ↑25 Oct 2025 13:12 pmCouple of thoughts:kimzey59 wrote: ↑25 Oct 2025 12:52 pmHolloway started the year with Schenn and Kyrou.

I agree with you, Hollaway at the beginning of this year was playing with Schenn and Kyrou.
Last game he was on Thomas line, so he has played with good players.
Hollaway stats so far this year,
1 goal 1 assist and -6 . Link below.

Will he get it going again.
I think so but so far this year he hasn,t.
The Blues top offensive players Hollaway , Kryou ,Thomas and Buchnevich need to get some consistent offense going each game and start scoring.
Also the Blues Defensive game needs to get alot better and Joe Hofer when he plays again, needs to get out his slump and play like he did last year.
Will it happen .
Time will tell.
I sure do hope so.

He had a 165 hits last year. Essentially the same pacekimzey59 wrote: ↑25 Oct 2025 12:52 pmHolloway started the year with Schenn and Kyrou.

Re: The projected lineup for tonight....
ship sailed on getting rid of him for any valuePavel Buchnevich
thaat contract will be an anchor to get any value, sure you can find a team for him, but your getting average picks, or pick and a lottery ticket prospect
Re: The projected lineup for tonight....
One thing is not like the other. Schenn will get his points but in no way plays the game at Hollo, Kyrou level. Making passes, and plays between the three either behind, or ahead.kimzey59 wrote: ↑25 Oct 2025 12:52 pmHolloway started the year with Schenn and Kyrou.

But that's not half the problem. That the style of play, that line is coached to play is. Holloway isn't a Net front player but a 'take it to the net, player.
Instead of hitting a streaking Kyrou, or Holloway. Puck carrier throws to the end board, wing1 goes for the puck, wing 2/puck tosser. One heads to the paint, the other heads to the deep board line then closes in to the net. The puck either goes to defender or towards net.
Good for Schenn, Neighbours, Sunny, Walker, Joe, Toro, Bugs, Thomas can, should be real good for Buch, and it's what Snugs is being taught. But not so good for Kyrou, Holloway, Tex, Thomas, Snuggs.
Another problem with that play for skilled player is that they don't get into a skating grove. But a lot of holding position while board battle, garbage happens. Eventually slower skating rebounds as disappointment builds and game gets watched.
He needs to be able to play the game he knows with others who think the game at the same level. The coach's constant drive for defense, at the cost of offense should be for guys and lines that can't use their offense as the teams defense. In other words. Kyrou and Holloway need to stay on the top line with Thomas.

That would be a great way to get him to sign a contract extension.kimzey59 wrote: ↑25 Oct 2025 12:52 pm Holloway started the year with Schenn and Kyrou.
