Ryan Helsley

Absolutely worth the risk in bringing him back assuming the contract is reasonable. Young with a great arm, velocity and breaking ball. Loves the team and the city.

I dunno. He's 30, so not all that young. The pen seemed to function pretty well without him down the stretch. Personally I think the money needs to be spent in other places.

I’d go with Svanson….seems more mentally sound

All depends on $$$ and length of contract. Until you know that you can’t make a decision. But I think it’s worth looking at.

I’d like to bring up the arms they have. Some of the higher end pitching prospects who have injury problems or who are t projecting as a starter who still have stuff.

Lesley will be a bargain, but probably still to much money for stl.

Also, he would be harder to flip at the deadline after what happened in 2025.

If our BP had imploded after he left, then signing him to a 1 yr pillow contract might serve the needs of both parties. As it stands, he needs that more than the Cardinals do.

I think the Cardinals chapter of his career is over.

It would obviously depend on the cost. I also think he'd benefit by not being named the closer and rather have a closer by committee. But he'd be one of the better options out of the pen if they signed him. But it would depend on the money.

As a first time free agent at 31, Helsley understandably will be seeking a contract for years and dollars that would be a poor fit for the Cardinals’ current situation and plans. For his sake, I hope the Cardinals never enter the picture, because that would likely portend a very disappointing outcome for him in FA.

Waste of limited resources (re: payroll) bringing back Helsley.

C. Bloom needs to spend any money BDWJr gives him this offseason finding an inexpensive S.P. (or two) plus an OF who can actually hit.

If we are indeed in a rebuild, why are we not turning the closer and setup roles over to O’Brien and Svanson?

If that’s the case, why do you want Helsley back at at price?

This is a mindset shift from the past of trying to be half contenders to get 80 plus wins. Need to go all in with a rebuild and bank on development and high draft picks over wins for next season.

Can Svanson hit 103?

Who cares if the throws 103? Helsley threw 100+ and they hit over .400 against it. If you love to watch a hard thrower get crushed then yea I guess it’s worth wasting money on him

Who cares?
Hitting 103 sure didn’t help Helsley down the stretch.
