Tonight's Changes (10/23)
Per Lou Korac:
Oskar Sundqvist is in tonight, so is Logan Mailloux. Joel Hofer gets the start.

Not sure who is Sunny is replacing.

I would think so. But this early in the season, Monty might move people around.Bubble4427 wrote: ↑23 Oct 2025 11:09 amTexiersomni wrote: ↑23 Oct 2025 11:06 am Per Lou Korac:

They miss Sunny. Been out a while so he may be a bit rusty.

Re: Tonight's Changes (10/23)
They need sunny on that 4th line. Joseph has been arguably the best player as far as disruption goes this season so it's hopefully not him. LM getting back in the lineup is needed. Kessel is just a guy. Good for a game every 3 or 4 but can't be a repeat guy. Not sure if I agree with yesterday's vet/youngin combos. Faulk Broberg have been elite as a pairing this season. We already know Fowler Parayko is a top pairing in the league. Breaking everyone up to cover other people's warts just sounds like a recipe for disfunction. There is an avenue where the Parayko Broberg combo turns into a top 5 d pairing in the league. But that's at the expense of others imo.

Re: Tonight's Changes (10/23)
If they lose their fourth conference game at home tonight and the third home game in three tries to teams below them in the division last year, it will really start to raise questions. There is not going to be a door wide open all year to get a playoff spot with a late spurt.

We'll have to see but I would think those pairs will be collapsed or rearranged as the game dictates.
Juggling lines and pairings frankly is expected early in the season, especially with three new forwards (counting Snuggy) and a defenseman. To the extent it's driven by dysfunction and inconsistency is obviously not good.

Monty was pretty (upset)- I imagine we will see some jump tonight.

Re: Tonight's Changes (10/23)
I would agree but it's obvious that Monty is NOT a Texier fan and he definitely is out of place playing on the 4th line.somni wrote: ↑23 Oct 2025 11:24 amI would think so. Re: Tonight's Changes (10/23)
I like the idea of the lines,
Buch Thomas Kyrou - top guys, havent really stepped up at all, time to get going, the onus is on this line plus Monty will probably go head to head vs Utah. Lets see where we are at with this group. Its not do or die time by any means but quit looking up at the ceiling and start producing time. This group needs to get to the slot and make offense but they are three softer playmakers they tend to want to pass too much to each other, gonna be intereting.
Holloway Schenn Neighbours - tougher, harder working 2nd unit, again Holloway is in his own head, probably overthinking a huge extension but i like this line a lot vs Utah
Joseph Suter Snuggy - Suter and Joseph have been the most consistent Blues forwards, a very serviceable 3rd line I wouldnt be surprised to see Snuggy do well tonight, Suter is a +3 i believe
Walker Sunny Bjug - gonna be important for Sunny to have a physical impact we know O Brien can run around vs the Blues maybe Tucker takes him on, Blues without Sunny and Torop seem to play smallish. This line needs to be good tonight and going forward
Broberg Parayko - love it, its time to unleash Brobergs offense a little more ive been thinking Broberg would end up here sooner than later
Tucker Faulk - hmm, gonna have to see what happens, Faulk has been quietly pretty good hes not rock solid in his own always though can Tucker handle more minutes
Fowler LM - lets go big boy, LM has to stop thinking ala Holloway and just play instinctively. When i watch LM clips in the AHL hes all over the ice hes hitting, hes pinching in hes playing with abandon. Hes getting his chance here but so far hes choked on it. Really hoping to see more positive plays than negative plays tonight

Very happy to see Sunny in. Walker can use the help until the rest of the boys start making contact. (I didn't mention Schenn along with Walker because....well it's Schenn)

Re: Tonight's Changes (10/23)
I like your breakdowns. I dont know for a fact but i would think the way the blues defense “wants” to play is probably fast paced and rough for a guy who has questions defensively. Hes just going to have to get the reps. I like him with fowler. Fowler hasnt really stood out to me. I think that pairing will be fun eventually. Fowler needs to be vocal.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑23 Oct 2025 14:26 pm I like the idea of the lines,

Well they are managing to more than tread water with some of their best players under performing. Agree the home thing has to change.
I have to more than assume Thomas and Holloway will get serious here and soon.

Re: Tonight's Changes (10/23)
All he did up front was swap Schenn with Thomas and insert Sundqvist for Texier.
Not drastic changes.
