Run Hardy & Robers and control the clock and get key first down
Occasional pass play to Coleman, Johson and O.
Keep Pavia off the field.
Mizzou wins by a touchdown.

Run successfully and watch the passing game improve in bunches.

Problem is Vandy knows that too and will try and put MU in second and third and long situations.straight out of st louis robert ave wrote: ↑22 Oct 2025 20:45 pm Run Hardy & Robers and control the clock and get key first down

The remedy is a better understanding by Pribula of the passing game and route concepts and the confidence to execute it.
Balance makes an offense dangerous and can keep
opponent possessions to a minimum.
Unlike the Alabama game I hope MU throws more on first down and not become so predictable.
The crowd shouldn't be nearly the factor it was at Auburn with communication to change plays pre snap.
Re: Missouri - Vandy Prediction Thread
I respect your opinion and not saying it's wrong just disagree on first down strategy....meaning like on a 70-30 basis should be run.11WSChamps wrote: ↑23 Oct 2025 17:15 pmProblem is Vandy knows that too and will try and put MU in second and third and long situations.straight out of st louis robert ave wrote: ↑22 Oct 2025 20:45 pm Run Hardy & Robers and control the clock and get key first down

Missouri has one of the best tandems in their backfield yet the play calls do not reflect A) the run game and B) the tandem.
This of course requires YOU ESTABLISH A RUN GAME and to do so you can't just give it a whirl and then put the game in Pribs passing hands with every one knowing it.
Basically it's the run game that should be Pribs best friend. But you must force it and establish it with BOTH BACKS.

I just cleaned up the spelling errors.
Now if Kirby can clean up his play calling mistakes from the Auburn game, we can beat Vanderbilt.

I believe your percentage will be exactly what MU will do and I agree controlling the ball and TOP is key in winning this game.dhsux wrote: ↑23 Oct 2025 17:48 pmI respect your opinion and not saying it's wrong just disagree on first down strategy....meaning like on a 70-30 basis should be run.11WSChamps wrote: ↑23 Oct 2025 17:15 pmProblem is Vandy knows that too and will try and put MU in second and third and long situations.straight out of st louis robert ave wrote: ↑22 Oct 2025 20:45 pm Run Hardy & Robers and control the clock and get key first down

I just hope we can keep their defense a little tentative and off balance.

Re: Missouri - Vandy Prediction Thread
It's about time someone mentioned a Vandy weakness.third downs are this teams nemesis.
The 'Dores are #65 in the country in 3rd down percentage defense.
Re: Missouri - Vandy Prediction Thread
The run blocking has to be better. Hardy got 65 yards after contact at Auburn. That was 7 more yards than he actually gained. Drink has harped on that this week.straight out of st louis robert ave wrote: ↑23 Oct 2025 17:49 pmRun Hardy & Roberts and control the clock and get key first downs.straight out of st louis robert ave wrote: ↑22 Oct 2025 20:45 pm Run Hardy & Robers and control the clock and get key first down

Re: Missouri - Vandy Prediction Thread
The sad thing is their run blocking is better than their pass blocking. The pocket shrinks to nothing as soon as Beau gets the ball.icon wrote: ↑23 Oct 2025 23:35 pmThe run blocking has to be better. Re: Missouri - Vandy Prediction Thread
30-24, Vandy. I hope that I'm wrong. I'm just concerned with our ability to consistently move the ball on offense. Again, I hope that I'm wrong.
Re: Missouri - Vandy Prediction Thread
Auburn is a good team especially in that loud environment we played in. I think getting over that hump is going to make this setting "easy" and our offense will translate much better on field.

Re: Missouri - Vandy Prediction Thread
If Vanderbilt forces Mizzou to pass the ball they’ll win by three. If they don’t force the pass and allow Mizzou to run the ball (or Mizzou is too stubborn to run the ball) Vanderbilt will win by 10.
I’ve seen betting lines make Vanderbilt a 3.5 point favorite, 3.0 favorite and a 2.5 point favorite.

Re: Missouri - Vandy Prediction Thread
I believe going in MU has the better team with overall talent but Vanderbilt has the better QB and that is often the difference
After the Auburn near nightmare the home field "advantage" shouldn't be a huge factor. How much a relatively young QB Beau Pribula has learned and improved the last few weeks will be. He doesn't have to necessarily outplay Pavia but he needs to break his turnover streak and make the plays necessary to win a game like this.
Missouri isn't going change who they are on offense. Run the football be physical limit Vandy's possessions.
I won't go into what the defense has to do because everyone knows that.
It has to happen sometime right?
MU playing with a chip on their shoulder beats Vanderbilt
27-25.

Re: Missouri - Vandy Prediction Thread
I predict just the opposite, lots of scoring in this one. Vandy prevails as we are unable to stop Pavia.
Re: Missouri - Vandy Prediction Thread
Its always a tough game against Vandy....I'm going with a MIZZOU win....I mean, Vandy is one QB injury away from being average. If Eli can keep moving the chains and own the TOP keeping Vandy off the field.....AND not give away any turnovers, maybe even get an INT or fumble recovery....we can earn a win at Nashville. Our defense needs to bend but don't break and pressure inside the redzone.
