Re: Defensive Pairings Today (10/22)
This is exactly right. Unless people thought the Blues would compete for the Cup this year, LM and TT both need to play and they need to play with vets.
I hope they roll with these for quite a while and give them a real chance.

Re: Defensive Pairings Today (10/22)
Agree 100%. This is how the pairings should be for the foreseeable future.
Re: Defensive Pairings Today (10/22)
I’m sure Fowler is jacked at that potential swap

finally. LM should have been paired with fowler from the start

I like it

Its getting kind of silly IMO, just go get a dependable veteran for the 3rd pairing like should have already been done.

Balance is good in many respects...Vet paired with less experience, or stronger Offensive skill with reliable D to back up, or a more physical with less physical...and balance on all 3 pairings, etc. The differences between the three pairings will be the TOI and situations/zones in which they start they face-off.somni wrote: ↑22 Oct 2025 13:57 pm Per JR:

Right, good balance. And you know the bench will get shorter protecting a late lead, etc. And probably on some defensive zone starts, the pairings might be fluid.Old_Goat wrote: ↑22 Oct 2025 15:15 pmBalance is good in many respects...Vet paired with less experience, or stronger Offensive skill with reliable D to back up, or a more physical with less physical...and balance on all 3 pairings, etc. The differences between the three pairings will be the TOI and situations/zones in which they start they face-off.somni wrote: ↑22 Oct 2025 13:57 pm Per JR:

It'll be ok!
Re: Defensive Pairings Today (10/22)
Skinner and Lindstein up, Mailloux down, Kessel on waivers.

Yeah, it won't be good if Fowler is reduced to 3rd pairing minutes, right? I'd bet these pairings are very fluid if we indeed see them.sdaltons wrote: ↑22 Oct 2025 15:29 pmRight, good balance. Re: Defensive Pairings Today (10/22)
It means the 8-10 minutes Mailloux plays, he’ll pretty much be glued to Fowler’s hip. But Fowler will almost certainly get additional shifts with Parayko and maybe Faulk as well. And also additional special teams icetime. They’ll make sure Fowler gets his icetime.icon wrote: ↑22 Oct 2025 15:44 pmYeah, it won't be good if Fowler is reduced to 3rd pairing minutes, right? Re: Defensive Pairings Today (10/22)
Some times balance means bringing the low side up and some times it means bringing the high side down....I'm not sure which is happening here....we need to just fill the relatively easy to fill holeOld_Goat wrote: ↑22 Oct 2025 15:15 pmBalance is good in many respects...Vet paired with less experience, or stronger Offensive skill with reliable D to back up, or a more physical with less physical...and balance on all 3 pairings, etc. The differences between the three pairings will be the TOI and situations/zones in which they start they face-off.somni wrote: ↑22 Oct 2025 13:57 pm Per JR:

Re: Defensive Pairings Today (10/22)
The good part in this would be seeing Broberg bumped up. He needs to show he’s ready and develop some push back. He’s still far too soft for me.
