Monty very critical of Snuggs last night
I saw his comment on Youtube last night. Can't find it on STL Today. He criticized his performance and his effort. It was only one line, he didn't dwell on it but I'm expecting Snuggs to sit out the next game according to Monty's exasperation in his comment. He basically said that Snuggs did nothing right. Wasn't where he should be. I was quite surprised.

What's funny, is when he put Snuggerud for a 4th line shift, Mr. Awareness Vitale said he was being double shifted.Galatians221jb1 wrote: ↑22 Oct 2025 10:04 am I saw his comment on Youtube last night. I haven't noticed him looking so drastically out of place but his minutes are WAY down to start out here. He is in the doghouse 100%

Pretty early for a doghouse, considering his contributions so far.
Curious what happens. No need to gripe on him too hard. Others deserve more blame at this point than him. If someone has Monty's quote, please post. Thanks.

Here’s the comment. Six minute video. Snuggs comment at the very last. “He wasn’t skating, he wasn’t checking, it wasn't his night…”

Had one shift in the 3rd period.
Based on that I wouldn't be shocked if he sits on Thurs when Sunny comes back. Nothing wrong with watching a game or two.

Nice to see him agree with me.
He must hate Snuggalicious like I do

It's not like Monty to call out a player like that. In fairness, he was asked by the reporter why Snuggs played so little and gave a brief, terse answer.

Depends on who is available. Texier might be first out based on ice time.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑22 Oct 2025 10:17 am Had one shift in the 3rd period.

I wouldn't worry about this. He's a young player and part of the maturing process is how to channel your energy on your good days and how to manage when you don't have it. This is exactly what a coach is supposed to do.
Thomas was having a bad night in the first period. He couldn't handle passes and his passes were off the mark. He got better, but you could see he was struggling.

Snugs has had some early success and Monty wants to make sure he doesn’t get cocky and take his foot off the peddle. This is the NHL and you can’t take nights off. Snuggerud will learn as he goes and Monty will make sure he doesn’t get too comfortable or too full of himself.

Re: Monty very critical of Snuggs last night
If you are keeping it a buck as the kids would say... The only person skating the first 2 periods on offense yesterday was Schenner. Basically the defense and Binner were left on an island and Schenn was the only person who created ANYTHING on offense. He threatened the goal one time and then basically put neighbours on a can't miss opportunity on the back post and neighbours whiffed.
Outside of the Faulk play the defense played great and had 0 offensive help. Every shot was blocked, the pressure was on them the whole time. The most concerning part about the start to the season, your top 3 scorers are a 23 year old neighbours, a 21 year old snuggy, and a FA acquisition Suter. I'm not sure what percentage of our goals came from defensemen last year but I know they were very active, 2 of our 16 goals are from them. A quick google search says 16 percent and we are at 12.5 so that's a tad down.
Blues are feast or famine at the moment in the scoring department. Team should be happy they are 3-2-1. The West looks to be even better than last year over the East. Averaging 4 goals in wins is a good thing. Averaging 1.3 in losses is concerning.

I trust Coach Monty a lot more than people on this site who haven't been coaching successfully for many years.Frank Underwood wrote: ↑22 Oct 2025 11:00 am Snugs has had some early success and Monty wants to make sure he doesn’t get cocky and take his foot off the peddle.
