IF game comes down to the better QB vandy wins of course But according to stats one OT for V is 134th in country pass blocking and the other 324. With MU being 3rd in country in pressure that's an interesting matchup. But Vandy had a high pass blocking grade last week against a supposedly talented LSU front. MU will be putting much more pressure on Pavia but he is a wizard at evading and then taking off for positive yardage
typical of Blake Baker defense a scrambling, running QB is his bane and he still didn't have Pavia spied properly and he ran wild against them. Batoon will have spy or spies on him and they will be fast enough to bring him down. so that's a key matchup. LSU spent a huge amount of NIL bucks to buy best secondary and DLmen and have been best part of their team but not as effective as MU's.
Vandy ran wild on LSU's D very effectively and they will have some success against MU but not that much IMO.
Their OC is much better than MU's and deploys his two very good TE's to great results and putting their Offense in position to take advantage of their strengths. LSu's TE ran wild against candy and Brent should have a big day IF Kirby remembers he is on field and targets him. Coleman, oligude? Manning and Speedy should have great midrange success.
who wins? Total tossup as both are very similar but Vandys HC and OC are better plus home field. V favored slightly which means little. Should be great game to watch. IF MU running game goes back to being dominant they should win handily. but again will they?

Nobody is going to go in there and "win handily".
Vandy's QB play won't allow that to happen.
Limiting Pavia to how many plays he can extend and turn nothing into something is going to be the key to the game.
Missouri isn't going to suddenly change what they do.
They're going to run the ball trying to limit opponent's possessions and play complementary football which in an SEC road game is a necessity.
Fans believing Moore is going to have Pribula chuck the ball all over the field playing high risk high reward offense are going to wait a long time.

The front 7 are outstanding for the Tigers, and will be critical, of course, in stopping Vandy and containing Pavia's scrambles. Here's how they graded out against Auburn, according to PFF:
The LBs were great. Josiah Trotter earned a team-high 81.7 run-defense grade and tied for a team-high 6 tackles, four of which were graded as stops. Triston Newson posted the team’s highest overall defensive mark at 87.7, his best of the season, while Khalil Jacobs added an efficient 67.2 and remained steady in pursuit.
Up front, more great play. Zion Young and Langden Kitchen each recorded 4 pressures, while Marquis Gracial (77.7) and Chris McClellan (65.5) clogged lanes inside. Young’s 74.2 overall defensive grade underscored his consistency. He beat his blocker on nearly a quarter of his rush reps. The edge rusher finished with 4 pressures and 2 sacks. Meanwhile, Damon Wilson II added a pressure on the final play of the game, wrapping up Jackson Arnold and sealing Missouri’s gritty victory.

It’s been 33 games with Moore if my count is correct. It’s willful ignorance at this point.11WSChamps wrote: ↑21 Oct 2025 15:18 pm Nobody is going to go in there and "win handily".

Well, Pribula did throw a lot against KU because they were behind, I guess. And he was great in that game, even when pressured, and was throwing dimes into tight windows. Also, this offense was a lot more wide open the first year Moore was OC with Cook at QB, if memory serves.Barksdale's People wrote: ↑21 Oct 2025 17:43 pmIt’s been 33 games with Moore if my count is correct. After the Bama game Drink said he has to get Pribula in a rhythm. Did he look more in a rhythm in the Auburn game? I think he was better, and show some guts. After the Auburn game Drink said he has to tighten up the passing game. Let’s see if Drink does just that. I think we have to remember…Pribula is way behind in game time experience compared to the opposing QBs he’s played all year. Football is always a team effort….and Pribula needs his teams effort than most QBs he’s faced. But keep in mind….while KU was a good football team, they don’t have the same horses as those faced in the SEC. I look for Pribula to throw when needed the most. Mizzou will do what tney do best against Vandy. I only hope Drink and Moore calls a great game rather some head scratchers as in the Auburn game.icon wrote: ↑21 Oct 2025 18:31 pmWell, Pribula did throw a lot against KU because they were behind, I guess. You mean the year Cody Schrader carried Mizzou down the back half of the season and lead the SEC in rushing?icon wrote: ↑21 Oct 2025 18:31 pmWell, Pribula did throw a lot against KU because they were behind, I guess. Mizzou played shootouts with LSU and Vandy in ‘23. They played one with Kansas this year. Shootouts happen every year. The gameplan however has always been ball control and an advantageous passing attack. Listen to any interview with the coach and watch the games where Mizzou doesn’t give up 35 points and it becomes obvious real quick.
Re: PFF guys interesting stats
everything changes for MU IF they start out successfully running the ball which means the O line gets back to having success which IMO they will have against a average Vandy D line. They Beau can do more play action which would limit the rush and allow him time to find his targets better and get back to a higher % passing. Hardy or Roberts breaking off big runs and we shall see how Vandy handles things.
Most of the talking heads are praising V and talking about them as definite playoff team BUT if MU wins then they will earn ton of respect and then all eyes would go to the Aggies game and the talk would shift to Tigers as playoff team.
Yet another pivotal game. Such is life in SEC where parity has arrived with no super team. Bama is really good BUT if Ty, who has taken a lot of hits goes down they are an entirely different team. GA's vaunted D has no pass rush and they couldn't keep Lane Train out of EZ till fourth quarter when once again best HC in CFB adjusted as he usually does.
Nice thing is? MU is in the conversation and this year is much more competitive against the Big dogs.
