Re: This guy says Albert not going to Angels
Well there goes my assumption that I thought he had to work with the Angles for the 10 years after his retirement if he wanted to stay in the MLB. I thought his contract said something like that. I guess not.

San Diego will be his destination

Re: This guy says Albert not going to Angels
The personal services contract is somewhat misleading, or at the very least, confusing. Albert could still manage or coach for another team, but would still be owed that money from the Angels - similar to how Arenado plays/played for the Cardinals while still receiving a portion of his salary from Colorado.
Keep in mind - perhaps the only thing Albert and us mortals have in common is we have families and some/most (?) of us consult our better halves on major career decisions. Los Angeles is a big city, but would your second wife be giddy about uprooting and moving to where your ex-wife still resides? San Diego seems like a great fit for Albert, but is it far enough?

Angels would be a graveyard for a manager. Padres will give him all that he needs to compete at a top levelVegasVinny wrote: ↑21 Oct 2025 09:37 amThe personal services contract is somewhat misleading, or at the very least, confusing. This guy says the Angels hired Kurt Suzuki. There's still the Padres and Orioles.

I think you explanation my be off a little. Arenado has deferred money coming to him over the next several years. Albert's personal service contract is no deferred money. Here's an explanation that AI came up with.VegasVinny wrote: ↑21 Oct 2025 09:37 amThe personal services contract is somewhat misleading, or at the very least, confusing. Albert Pujols has a 10-year, \(\$10\) million personal services contract with the Los Angeles Angels, which began after his playing career ended in 2022. As a special assistant, his duties include assisting in camp, working with young prospects in the Dominican Republic, advising the front office, and making appearances at events.
Pujols' responsibilities On-field instruction: Working with young prospects in the Dominican RepublicSpring training: Assisting with camp duties and on-field instructionAdvisory role: Consulting with the front office and club managementOther events: Making appearances at team events

Thanks for the correction on that. It’s a murky clause.HorseTrader wrote: ↑21 Oct 2025 18:19 pmI think you explanation my be off a little.
