Albert could still manage or coach for another team, but would still be owed that money from the Angels - similar to how Arenado plays/played for the Cardinals while still receiving a portion of his salary from Colorado.

Keep in mind - perhaps the only thing Albert and us mortals have in common is we have families and some/most (?) of us consult our better halves on major career decisions. Los Angeles is a big city, but would your second wife be giddy about uprooting and moving to where your ex-wife still resides? San Diego seems like a great fit for Albert, but is it far enough?

I think you explanation my be off a little. Arenado has deferred money coming to him over the next several years. Albert's personal service contract is no deferred money. Here's an explanation that AI came up with.
