Dodgers verse Toronto- who ya got
Good morning.
Well the baseball season has finally come to this. LAD and Toronto. One a given, one a mild surprise.
All the thoughts ideas and banter here on CT, all comes down to the next 4-7 games, of two distant competitors.
Who ya got. Will-
- Dodgers pitching remain tough. If so, five games LA. If LA can have two mediocre games from their staff, Toronto may steal two games, especially on a hitting day.
Defense and base running about even. Pens. As usual, this will decide games. Can Toronto get into LA’s pen? Can Tornado win two pen games.
I say, no way, it goes seven. LA in six.

The week off came at a bad time for the Dodgers, as well as they were playing. Blue Jays have home field so that will help. I have no idea who will win (because a seven game series is a complete (bleep) shoot) but how anyone outside of LA could be rooting for the Dodgers is beyond me. None of their players are particularly annoying, but they are the most hateable team since the 50s Yankees.

Morning. Nice take. You mention week off. Nothing kills momentum or intense focus like time off. Dulls one quick. That may take two games to clean the rust out.Bob39 wrote: ↑21 Oct 2025 07:36 am The week off came at a bad time for the Dodgers, as well as they were playing. Under that scenerio, I could see a 2-0 Toronto edge- could they possibly go up 3-0?
Re: Dodgers verse Toronto- who ya got
I think the world championship of America’s game (ignoring football) will be celebrated in Canada.
Re: Dodgers verse Toronto- who ya got
The Dodgers will be favorites to win the series, but I hope Toronto wins. I was familiar with Springer, Guerrero, Kirk, and Varsho - but the lesser known players like Clement and Barger have been impressive. Looks like Bo Bichette will be able to play in the WS, and this could be huge. Toronto will need some big games from Gausman, Yesavage, and Bieber. Toronto has the home advantage, and they need to win the first two games in Canada. Blue Jays in 7!

You lay out a scenario that gives Toronto about the best shot they have to win.Bob39 wrote: ↑21 Oct 2025 07:36 am The week off came at a bad time for the Dodgers, as well as they were playing. I think Toronto has a better chance than Seattle would have to take down the Dodgers.
For me, this is a premier matchup of star players on both sides. We are in for a great WS. I'd love to see Toronto pull it off.

I usually pull for the NL team but not the Dodgers. I'll take a pass this year.

Don't want to see the Dodgers buy another WS title.

The best thing for baseball would be a Dodger's win.
It would demonstrate how much the league needs real revenue sharing and some kind of cap/floor like the NFL.
A Toronto win would give comfort and ammunition to the Dodgers and Yankees et. al. Their supporters would argue that everything is fine and no change is needed.

If you call it a toss up is that the same as saying it goes seven games.Cranny wrote: ↑21 Oct 2025 07:57 amToss up.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑21 Oct 2025 07:16 am Good morning.

I'm for whoever plays the Dodgers. LA is 4 or 5 WS titles behind the second place Cardinals. DeWitt doesn't care but I do.
