Frankly, of the former players, Edmonds would be my first choice. Knowledgable, with a little "edge". He would probably get after some players for poor play. #2 would be Pujols. #3 Stubby Clapp.

Shady, serious question. What makes you think that Edmonds "would probably get after some players for poor play"? Why do you say this? Are you basing this claim from his broadcasting time frame? His playing days? Just curious why Edmonds would be the guy to go after players for poor play? Wouldn't any decent manager do the same?

I gathered this from the way Edmonds wasn't shy from some critique when broadcasting. In other words, he didn't "sugar coat".

If nothing develops, Pujols getting a Cardinals' coaching gig, for now, would make sense. Are two bench coaches feasible ?

I believe the club needs dramatic change in philosophy, strategy, and personnel at all levels of the organization…..

Recycling former players is not consistent with that..

Now….if the goal is to sell tickets………??
