I think there’s a good chance we can get Ellis back. Lyon has won his last 2 games and shutout the Panthers on Saturday. I’d expect him to get the start today against the Habs too.

Luukkonen rejoined the Sabres in practice 6 days ago but I don’t see anything on a timeline on when he’s expected to return. He got hurt the very first preseason game so all he’s played so far this season is 20 minutes of that first preseason game and that’s it. Wouldn’t be surprised if they send him to the AHL a bit to get some rehab starts so may still be a while before they have to make a decision of Ellis.

I was hoping the Blues could get to the next contracts of Binner and Hofer and they could decide what to do with the org based off of our results. But that wouldn't be until next season. If our team looks like it isn't ascending to a cup team, we ask Binner what he wants to do. If we look like we are challenging for a cup, then you deal one of the other 2, but if Ellis goes thru waivers and gets back with the Blues, that will signal that his stock isn't that high until he gets NHL time. So you would probably have to trade Hofer to get some immediate value.
